    i think the argument could be made that a burrito is a type of sandwich, like a sub category. i think categories are important, since bread or a pita or a bun or a tortilla all serve the same purpose- keeping your hands clear (mostly) of the delicious fillings.

    just made my sandwich for today's lunch: potato bread, miracle whip, sliced cucumber, fried peppers from a jar, swiss cheese, turkey, and iceberg lettuce for a nice crunch.

    I don't know my friend. Wraps present a grey area;

    sand·wich   /ˈsændwɪtʃ, ˈsæn-/ Show Spelled
    [sand-wich, san-] Show IPA

    –noun
    1. two or more slices of bread or the like with a layer of meat, fish, cheese, etc., between each pair.
    2. open sandwich.
    3. something resembling or suggesting a sandwich, as something in horizontal layers: a plywood sandwich.
    –verb (used with object)
    4. to put into a sandwich.
    5. to insert between two other things: to sandwich an appointment between two board meetings.

    Wraps and burritos don't have horizontal layers. I'm not sure that they'd qualify as a sandwich.
