I sometimes wonder how I'd react to tripping at a show, because I have SEVERE social anxiety. Given the right substance and music though, I suppose the crowd could disappear completely.

I think I would only trip at a show on 2C-B. Everything else just doesn't seem like it would be fun. I'd rather eat a bunch of MDMA or Methylone and feed off the crowd's energy.

I've taken pot, alcohol, mushrooms, LSD, 2ci, now 2ce, 4-ac0 dmt, MDMA, Ketamine, GBL, cocaine and nitrous at concerts and/or raves.

MDMA is my favorite by far but LSD,2ce and 2ci I think both would be good in a kind of chill concert enviornment. Everytime I've taken mushrooms at shows I kind of just go off into my own little world and don't really pay attention to the music. I took methylone at a strip club lol.

2C-B was pretty bad for a show IMO. Then again, it was a pretty fucked up show. I've also dosed 50mg of 2C-E at a show, which was a little bit excessive.

I think the best drug mix I've ever done at a show was LSD + mushrooms + cannabis. Really one of the best feelings I've had at a show, and Xavier Rudd who was playing put on one of the best shows I've seen.

    what show was that CS?

TNS, i can't believe you've NEVER been to a concert! i knew this already though. but GET YOUR ASS TO ONE!

i've taken LSD at a few concerts (el ten eleven, silversun pickups, the pink floyd experience, and other random local bands) and 2ce at minus the bear

    those were all small venues

i don't really have social anxiety, but like most, i don't like being around others when i'm tripping. but at a concert, it's different. 2ce was no problem at minus the bear which was crowded as fuck and 90 degrees. actually, that was a bit of a problem. it felt like my brain was overheating a bit, seriously.
low dose LSD is great for shows too.

I'm going to see Pink Floyd in Mancester this June, can't decide if I'd be able to handle tripping there, I guess I'm pretty socially anxious and there'd just be such a massive crowd in an arena, and so much noise you could never get away from if you wanted to, and I imagine if I was caught by guards I'd just get funneled thru a bunch of people from guards to medics to police.. ughhh

Then again it COULD be AMAZING... :s

Deftones were terrible when I saw them, I was disappointed big time, saw them at a bigger arena though. Both smaller venues and larger venues have their upsides and downsides. It also depends on the band somewhat in my opinion too, I think it even extends to seeing a band in an arena or outdoor amphitheater sometimes. Like I saw Mars Volta at an Outdoor theater and they were absolutely amazing, then I saw them in an arena and they were garbage, there music is so fast that it seemed the sound got trapped inside the arena and it was just a wall of noise coming from the stage. Tool on the other hand can play anywhere and kick ass but I don't think I'd like to see them in a smaller club these days.

I don't mind jam packed clubs for rock music but I hate it for electronic dance music. I usually end up kicking people when i'm dancing or they'll just obliviously walk right into me, like this past weekend some dude just walked into my space, it's annoying. I even got my foot stepped on and that bothered me less than the guy just walking around aimlessly but still a downside of the club for EDM.

As much as you like music, man you should see some live. I'm opposite GB, I've done the massive arena sized shows and while they can be awesome, I like the small venues these days. Mass amounts of people gets to be too much sometimes, but if someone I really wanted to see came around, I'd hang.

I would much rather see a concert at a small venue. I don't even go to big arena shows anymore. Shows like that generally attract a huge crowd of people that don't even care that much about music and view it more as a social event. The last 3 arena shows I went to the crowd around me talked throughout the whole concert, to the point where the buzz of conversation actually became so loud that it interferred with hearing the music. fuck all that.

Floyd is playing again??? Or is it a 'tribute' kinda thing? You need to know what you can and can't handle while tripping, but Floyd for me was mind blowing on L. 87-88 they toured massively and I saw them at an indoor arena on L, and 6 months later at a massive outdoor arena totally straight. Then again in an outdoor arena in 94. Best performances ever, bar none.

So you think something like this would play better on a small stage?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqZfVcWI2Ig"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqZfVcWI2Ig

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zAX4QvuB7c"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zAX4QvuB7c

I was saying it depends on the band/dj for me, I really don't have a preference actually. I went to a rave about a month ago that was in a really small enviornment and it was absolutely amazing but I think a band like Tool with the visuals and the particular sound they create fairs much better on a large stage.

Well, it's the Roger Waters band but they're doing The Wall show again for a while. I wish I'd seen them back in the day but it's still gonna be amazing :2thumbsup:

well as far as the social aspect went, my friends and i were perfectly fine for the most part. we have known each other for about seven years so we're pretty close and were able to do whatever we wanted without feeling strange, which i sometimes feel around people i don't know while tripping. we made dinner, ate, put pillows and different colored lights all around my room, dosed, and then just took turns putting on music, until eventually, the 2c-b took hold. at times it even felt to heavy and as if i was on the verge of freaking out due to my friend rolling on the floor fucking with me repeating "he got hit" because of flashing lights and his connection with them to an ambulance. i thought he was talking about either my friends or my life affairs and it was bringing me to a bad place, but after that was all cleared up i continued to enjoy myself. all of our mouths were sore from our perma grins and laughter

when i took 40mg i was actually in a very similar situation as you when you were with your fiance. i was with my girlfriend of two years and she was just chilling with me smoking weed. we just hung out on my bed with a black light and visualizer on talking the whole night. i had a very good time with her, but it was no where near as intense as it was with my friends. even when she dosed with me on two occasions (25mg) we weren't really feeling it all that much and she was complaining about stomach issues and feeling sober. bad attitudes/vibes from others change things haha..

I'm sure I'll see a live show eventually. When I have money though, I usually spend it before I can make any plans to do anything with it. lol

I'm thinking I would love live music in a dimly lit club atmosphere, personally.

^ the festival atmosphere is pretty awesome too. usually the majority of people are chill, the music's good, and the setting amazing. you can basically set up any kind of hangout spot you want by the music with an umbrella, chairs, blankets... there are plenty of perks. i guess this all depends on what festival you attend though

I haven't been to a festival in awhile and have never even been to like a jamband festival, They seem kind of expensive for the most part.

It seems like many of the same acts do these festivals together. I see Bassnectar, Eoto, SCI, Further at all of them.
I do not like Bassnectar at all, but I would like to see SCI.

I agree. Saw them 4 times all of which were in an arena. It would be a clusterfuck for them but an absolute riot with the fans. They have a way too big of a fanbase to do a small venue. The drunk douchebags that like tool bc they think it makes them deep would kick each others and everyone elses ass for a ticket. It was bad enough with deftones. Things got a little thick when stupid people just started showing up for tix and they had been sold out from the first day they went on sale.
