Yeah, it would be a shit ton of werk. But it just depends on what you value more. In my opinion, simplistic life is more satisfying and healthy than how modern society lives today. I mean with hard werk, the mind stays focused and free of petty worries. And yes, I'm aware of the technicalities and realities of this dream, but is it not worth it? Even if it's a failure, I'd still be glad to have tried.
There is no us, in hermit. Living on a commune is not removing yourself from society. That one would consider such an option to qualify as the desire to run away from society might indicate that it is simply your condition that you would like to replace. Changing location can be a stimulus for change but most often you transplant your difficulty. For a while novelty may distract you, but our difficulties in life can only be unraveled from within.
I do it several weekends each summer it’s called camping out Don’t need much just a backpack, tent, sleeping bag, air mattress, a retractable bow saw, a good pair of waterproof hiking boots, a walking stick, eating utensils, a small pot and frying pan, matches, poncho, first aid kit, along with plenty of food, water, trail mix and mosquito repellant :2thumbsup: Hotwater
it is pretty easy once you learn survival skills and stuff. how to cook squirrels and stuff. there are location you can get away with it. just depends where you go. building a log cabin though if you do get caught is not the best idea. just bring a tent. most people will last a month and realize that they do not want to camp out the rest of their life. you can smoke weed and drink and be fine with where you are at because you are feeling good. you could grow weed but you will eventually be caught. here in california there is a whole police force that just hikes through wilderness looking for pot operations. they also fly planes all around looking for special heat that the plant gives off. It is only fun with a community for the long term. If you can find a community of people that all like each other then it could last a while. play sports, card games, board games, talking, hunting, and all that can make it very fun. the downside is that you are far from society if you really hike a couple days real deep into the forest. so if you get a bacterial infection and you have no anti-biotics. not being near a hospital or doctor poses some slight risks. but whatever not that big of a deal. at a young age the chance of something needing to go the hospital right away is low. if you really want to do it though. stop thinking and saying it in your head. the question is do you really want to it? not think about it but actually do it. is it all your imagination or is it reality? many people say this but few actually go out there and do it. so either look into seriously joining a commune or this summer get your friends together and see if you all can go all 3 months of summer without coming back to society. make it a challenge.
Check out the book "How to be Free" by Tom Hodgkinson, I think it will be a big help man, some very interesting ideas in there!
Ahhh yes that would be nice! I could do it as long as I have some good friends and my guitar to keep me company, oh yeah and some bug spray.
I've always wanted to run away from society. I wanted to move to the rain forests and live off the land when I was like 6. Now I'm thinking something more likely.
Don't just run away - as whatever you run away from you'll stay attached to much like to a backpack you got sitting behind you. Set out to find what is yours aside from all society games. Take it as pilgrimage - one that lasts all your life. As even if the forest (including goats, gardens & tons of pot) calls to you for now, it's not the end of the road. Enjoy the trip !
JIm Morrison was one of the smartest people on this planet. If you are going to insult him, at least have a legit reason.
Wow, I had no idea what camping was. Shit, if I wanted to go on a god damn camping trip, then that's what I'd write about, eh????!
I'm in, let's go! I don't think my family would like the idea, but who the hell cares! LET'S DO IT!!!
