well strike force will be over in a couple of years. UFC does not like competition. also both sengoku and dream are losing money and might not be around anymore. same with k-1 kick boxing.

The next competitors are bellator which is now on mtv2 and M-1 global which has 4 shows on showtime this year and free fights on their website and m-1 is a russian based company.

the reason I liked strikeforce so much though is that they allowed fighters to have chill contracts. for example. strikeforce fighters can fight in boxing and kick boxing and other mma organizations. this is great because it allows fighters to compete often.

UFC is lame. you only get 3 fights a year. and you can only fight in the ufc and are not allowed to compete in other sports like boxing.

oh and strike force had plenty of money. it is just that they got offered a huge deal by UFC. and some of the guys that run it are involved in NHL and they wanted to focus on hockey and not spend all their time on MMA.

Will be interesting to see what happens over time to those that were "kicked" from the UFC and ended up with Strikeforce.

Not talking about Hendo. He'll be fine.

yeah this was announced like a week ago but I wanted to talk about it with mma fans.

anyhow I think sergei will retire after the strikeforce GP. I do not think he likes the ufc that much.

so I think overeem is gonna be the guy to challenge the ufc heavyweight division. he has great stand up ( recent k-1 muay thai world grand prix champion) but he still recently has not faced a good submission guy. so it will be interesting to see how he does.

yeah I wonder if nick diaz will be getting in the ufc. it would be cool to see him fight gsp. I know werdum will join the ufc.

I just hope another org like strikeforce that lets fighters cross over between boxing and mma gets big again. good for letting fighters stay active and gain more experience and make more money.

for example sergei kharitonov just had a recent boxing match a couple of days ago and won 1st round.

supposedly they will keep going like they are now, strikeforce as its own thing.

nick diaz also has like 8 fights left on his contract with strikeforce so he wont be in the ufc anytime soon
