Just curious. Im off opiates but unfortunately my back issues didnt disappear with the Roxies, lol. The weight I lost while on opies did help some, but i cant sit longer than half hour b4 I have to stand and stretch in order to get some relief. Fuck, im taking 3 courses online, not sitting longer than half hour sucks!

I didn't know you could take it for back pain. In that case it doesn't work for me in that regard. I take it for pain in the lower extremities caused by diabetic neuropathy. I take a 400mg cap 3 times per day, and it works moderately well for that. I also have pinched spinal nerves and it doesn't help me for that, at least that I notice.

Yeah, Ive heard peeps taking extreme doses to get high, I stopped at 1600mg, not a damn thing for Disc pain. Oh well, back to the Motrin, aleve and some occassional Jack Daniels

I'm on 1200mgs of Neurontin (Gabapentin) 3 times a day It depends on the type of pain you're dealing with It works well for the radicular pain down my arms and legs that I deal with following two auto accidents but not so well for the more severe pain in my neck and through my spine that the Fentanyl usually takes care of!!! As as I understand Gabapentin while originally formulated as an anti-seizure medication was found to work well for neuropathic/radicular pain as well!!! I also found that it does work well (for me at least) in keeping withdrawls at bay when I occasionally run out of my pain meds early along with Immodium and Benadryl! That is just how it works for me I'm not a doctor just a sufferer of chronic pain and so it just my opinion!!! Hoped this helped!
    Peace

I'm taking 300mg twice a day (Baby doses APPARENTLY lol). I really just take it every day in hopes that it MIGHT help with my foot (Arthritis and CRPS) but it never really does. I usually end up saying screw it and popping a few of my percocet so I can head out to work

Best of luck with that!! It can be quite the rollercoaster ride as we all know but every day is a new day and I sometimes wish I could get off that train but having been on opies for over 20 years I just couldn't deal with the pain.. But I do wish you well!!!!

Bottlefed may I suggest marijuana for your back pain? Obviously it's a much safer form a pain relief than opiates. You can just straight up smoke it, this will make your back vanish but if you don't smoke it will also impair you significantly, you can also make some Cannabutter and eat SMALL amounts on a piece of toast or something.

Gabapentin really does not have any anti-inflammatory properties so I don't see how it would help arthritis very much if at all!! Unless (in my thinking) if your Arthritis was Osteo not Rheumatoid and you had some type of neuropathic pain along with it!!!! Again I am not a Dr. so this is just an opinion!!!
    Peace

I'm just a recreational user so I can't give you any first hand knowledge but I do have a grand mother who has many of the same conditions as people that post here. A year ago she had about 15 pharmaceuticals including Gabapentin in combination with percs at first and morphine later. I thought that the Gabapentin was making her very moody and and she would snap at me all the time and she was still in pain. She has since went to a rehab that got her meds in order. She no longer takes Gabapentin and takes less morphine. I'm not saying that the Gabapentin caused her more pain but if she is doing better without it that means it most likely wasn't working to reduce her pain.

Ive been on Gabapentin for a few months now. It took a little over a month, but ive had significant relief from nerve pain. Diagnosed with fibromyalgia several years ago, ive tried Lyrica, Cymbalta, Savella and Amitriptyline. Gabapentin has been what has helped the best. Of course, i also take oxycodone and soma. Then there is the occassional ambien. Oxycodone is excellent for lots of different pain, but the gabapentin is what has targeted the nerve issues for me. My dose of gaba was just increased today to 600mlg 3x a day. The only bothersome side effect ive had has been some short term memory loss, similar to amnesia. Im hoping that will get better with time. If the back pain is associated with nerve problems, it might do the trick. if not, i might recommend Cymbalta to try first. ive heard lotza good things about it.
