Homeless Chinese man?

So I was watching "The Ricky Gervais Show" (Side note: I can't stand Ricky Gervais, but Karl Pilkington is another story. They should of called it "The Karl Pilkington Show")....Anyway, Karl makes a good point; Have you ever seen a Chinese homeless man? I Know I haven't, whats the deal with that?

i have watched episodes of the office a long time ago, but the u$ version so might not have seen "the plonker"

chinese homeless, now i'm specifically remembering a woman i used to see in sf's chinatown with bizarre makeup and strategic bandages, possibly schizophrenic [talked to herself too]

if not homeless then only due to the help of family and friends

perhaps social differences might explain the gervais conundrum?
