let's say you could send energy back in time. an uncontrolled loop of energy could potentially destroy the entire universe as we know it, but will create a condition of a constant big bang, continuous through the remainder of time. as the size and speed of far-flung regions of space approaches infinity, time would dilate and the outer edges would cool enough to be habitable, and, at this scale (think infinity^infinite) the likelyhood of spontaneous formation of life will be enormously augmented, but these life forms will be living in a universe which will not be eventually destroyed by proton decay, and which can sustain a truly unlimited amount of life. Furthermore, at these scales, it is not out of the question that the world as it is now might not spontaneously form again, recreating all of us exactly as we are at the moment of destruction. would you push a button that would make that happen?
See me rise, the mighty Surt Destroyer of the universe Bringer of flames and endless hurt Scorcher of men and earth!
