National Socialist Black Metal

What do you guys think of national socialist black metal (NSBM)? While I do not agree with the politcal aspects of the genre, I cannot deny that there are some NSBM bands that simply impress the hell out of me, such as Nokturnal Mortum, Temnozor, Graveland, Der Sturmer, Absurd, and Satanic Warmaster. Nokturnal Mortum, especially. Not only do I like their mixture of atmospheric and folkish elements, I also like how they keep their sound fresh and interesting. When you listen to them, you cannot wait to see the direction their music goes. The only thing I do not like about them, of course, is the use of Neo Nazism in their lyrics.

Yeah, atmospheric, pagan and folk black metal are my favourite kinds of black metal. I'm not interested in NSBM in particular at all but with bands from these (sub)genres like Nokturnal mortum (which makes awesome stuff indeed) you just get some neonazism thrown at you in some songs. Some think that's a good reason to not listen to it at all but since I like to think you are not what you listen to I do not have any problem with it. Ah well, what also helps is that you can't hear the lyrics clearly so unless you look them up it's just good black metal to me

 

Well, just because you don't agree with their political views doesn't mean their MUSIC has to be bad. I'm not a christian by any means, but I think Stryper is a great band musically. So I can totally relate to how you appreciate those NSBM bands.

Yeah I agree that lead singer they had had one incredible high voice . He was very talented . His fucking voice and octive range really impresses me .

 

If I listened to metal in the first place, I'd boycott their shit.

They give all metal a bad name. And it has a bad enough name as it is.

i feel that the guitar players almost in all of black metal sound alike.

There are two Nazi-named and themed metal bands that I like. The one's anti-Nazi (Sacred Reich) and the other is also tongue-in-cheek, but seems way less so (Stormtroopers of Death)

Dunno any black metal nazi bands, wouldn't bother to check them out, but I tend to keep an open mind.

With a name as nonsensical as "stormtroopers of death" they BETTER be tongue in cheek, and more than a little bit.

Some of their songs like Fuck the Middle East are a little hard to swallow, even with a little humor thrown in.

 

They also have this song. Funny thing is, practically all SOD and Billy Milano fans are rednecks.

I think that's about it.

I think Graveland is black metal, the rest punk/grindcore/hard rock and death metal really.
Weisse Jäger are a pretty fun folk band. If you don't speak German you'd expect them to play at Oktoberfest. That is until you comprehend the lyrics.

The genre itself doesn't offend me. Most of the bullshit I listen to probably has it's roots anchored to Satansim and although I'm not into that one bit, the music is good. Same with NSBM. Some of the stuff like Jew Slaughter is just a LOL. Typical American skinhead crap. I'll stick to German bands any day.

 

No, why would they? Only the ones they look down upon or that contradict their own. Since a lot BM bands focus their themes on their country's culture and ancestry including pagan religion they like to express their ancestors (and their own) dislike against all things foreign and especially christian but also other abrahamic religions. They generally are big on individualistic ideologies. I felt like I should neg rep you but I'm getting used to your ignorant posts regarding this genre of metal.

 

i think its funny how serious these guys with fucking painted faces take themself so serious.
