The story of the Starfish A father and his son were walking along a deserted beach after a particularly high tide had washed up thousands upon thousands of starfish onto the sand. The boy started picking them up and throwing them back into the water one by one. The father quizzed his son saying “You can’t possibly save them all, there are millions, you can’t possibly make a difference”. The boy smiled, bent down and picked up another starfish and as he threw it back into the sea, he replied “Made a difference to that one”. xx jaz
... I hear some say how they like this story ... some of the same, there's many more too, who have said that they can't make a difference .. that what they do doesn't make a difference. Imagine looking at the boy in the story from high up and seeing how insignificant that act seems when you try to take in the whole scene. The actions you take, however small they are have consequences far down the line. THINK ... you really do make a difference
yeah you never know how something you do might affect someone else in such a good way. i read it on another site and thought it was a beautiful story.
