I was about to type out something to the effect of ..we have it so convenient to be able to see any pictures/events/etc we want on google and whatnot.. but then I just realized the greatness of the internet. you know...communicating with unknown people across the world instantly ... having access to a large body of resources. go ahead, branch off and discuss :bigear:
i was thinking earlier about how it has made my need for social interaction so much easier. i'm a very social person, come to find out, and instead of socializing with people - i am able to do it online. not very cool if you ask me (it is, but i find that it has hindered my opportunities in some ways to meet others)
It's social-but in a different way. I think a lot of the regular posters on this board would not get along with each other if we were in the same building. We only get to see certain sides of each other. We may 'know' each other-but I don't know if many of would be friends. I'm very good friends with someone who used to post on here a lot-and I think I'd be good friends with one or two others if we hung out in person for awhile-and I'd really enjoy it. It's social-but in a different way. In person social is very different.
I enjoy the social aspects of the interwebz but I like learning things, more. I feel like I know so much more since I started researching all kinds of random crap online. I'm a genius! I do love learning about other people...this forum is ideal to learn the true colors and thoughts of others...even if they aren't true, they are interesting, none-the-less
Fuckin' blows my mind everytime I think of it. We've got cables running across the floor of the mother fucking ocean sending LIGHT SIGNALS TO ONE ANOTHER! GOD DAMNIT! I want to go 1000 years in the future and see the crazy shit we've invented. No doubt the human race will have brached out into space.
Im in awe of the amount of music available (including my own) at the click of a button and the way it allows to express yourself in various ways. For instance my signature pic says something about me, you creating this thread something about you. But it does have its limitations as others have mentioned.
1000 years? Think back 100 years-we're gods compared to people from 100 years ago. Not that technology has taken off picture people 100 years from now. They will be gods compared to us.
I use the Internets, and the Google all the time. I do like being able to know anything you dont in an instant.
oh yeah, this is another thing I thought of. You know, someone without these resources has only a limited amount of music. How would anyone without these resources know what any other type of music sounds like if it is not just the kind around them? hope that made sense.
It kind of makes me wish I had a facebook because it is an excellent way to document your life. I guess just having a lot of photos in general. I felt kinda bad I won't have a lot to remember this point in life by besides my thoughts, so I take pictures of myself quite a bit now on my mac just so I'll have a good representation of what I looked like. I just wish I had started earlier.
