I was at home helping out my parents with some yard work. My mom asked if I would bring down the flag. Its colors were all faded, it had a few rips in it since the was once a small tree was growing into it. It was a really pathetic flag. Well I brought it down and my mom rolled it up like a joint. She literally rolled it up in news paper. We put it in a huge barrel a torched the fucker. One of our neighbors drove by as it was being rolled up, but he is old and I doubt knew what was going on. Well we still wanted a flag so we put up our portuguese flag since we are most likely the only portuguese people within 100 miles.
If I had an American flag, I'd burn it about now. Not cause it was old, but because our country won't stop attacking things; whether it be Iraq, terrorists in Afghanistan, the government of Libya, or Americans' voting rights.
That IS how you're supposed to dispose of a faded, tattered old American flag. To leave it up looking like that is disrespectful.
they're not very absorbent, are they? perhaps i am confusing immigration issues with flag construction
I would like to burn an american flag. Not because its old and tattered and thats the proper way to dispose of it, but because I routinely feel unsatisfied with this country and doing something symbolic would give me a fleeting moment of satisfaction.
burning it is better than just throwing it out I think you should put two new ones up though...a new Portuguese one and a new US one..side by side
When you burn an american flag and replace it with a flag of another country?.... Just part of the Jihad ceremony, No explanation needed
Cause we all know Portugal's number one export is Islamic terrorists... I'd still proudly rock the Pittsburgh flag, the Polish flag, and Pennsylvanian flag - but after two war-hungry presidents in a row, America's ever quicker descent into oligarchy, and all kindsa conservative-fascist crap going on in Washington -- can't say I'm feeling very proud of my country at the moment. Maybe the Gadsen flag would be the best to wave right now:
