Yes and no. I rolled joints and preferred my chamber pipes over bongs. Bags ran 10-12 bucks for a lid. A lid was 3/4ths ounce. Ounces weighed an ounce and cost 10-15 bucks.

In the last 3 days I've smoked a bowl in my chamber pipe and smoked on 3 or 4 joints. The most recent bags I bought were both ounces for $250 and $300. My 250 stuff is better than my 300 stuff. Go figure.

Pot today is more potent and you don't buy it by the ounce. It doesn't contain stems and seeds anymore, and the shake is sold separately from the buds, whereas in the old days it was mixed together. The high is still the same, you just smoke less.

that's not necessarily true, i got bud with seeds and stems and buds mixed in with shake just the other day my friend, and it's not a whole lot potent as some others i've had, all in all i dont think you really can make a comparison between marijuana of the past and present, and who cares anyway, i sure don't, i just smoke smoke smoke whatever pot i can, regardless of if it's from the 60s or 2000s

I was just speaking as a general rule, of course there are exceptions.

I don't recommend smoking pot from the 60s.

I always chuckled about the whole, 'pot is more potent today' thing...

Yes, overall, pot has gotten stronger, but it's not like ALL pot is stronger then it used to be... there is still crap that goes around.

It's especially funny when people who are anti-pot use it as a reason for it being illegal.

Like they ever cared what it's strength was....

In the sixies/early seventies I always found the best, most potent stuff was from Viet Nam, Thailand or Afganistan. Once in a while I found Hawaiian. Most of what was available where I lived came from Mexico and was OK to real good but not great. Local stuff was usually god awful shit. Late 70's a friend says try this shit, it's local. It was free, I figured what the hell. With no expectations beyond a sore throat I hit that shit hard. Knocked me right on my ass, cross-eyed with delight. So he explained about Crazy Lou, the plant geneticist who had dropped out of his PhD program and pursued the meaniful search for a better buzz.

I don't waste time or money on shit weed anymore. I don't smoke near as often as I used to and want a buzz with potency. Joints were fun but now they're too wasteful. Recently I started using a ceramic/vaporizer pipe cause its way kinder to my throat. Local stuff has become an art and keeps jobs here in the USA. I feel like a patriot when I smoke.

My smoke is local grown. I prefer scoring ounces to limit my exposure actually scoring.

I'm doing my part and helping the local weed economy.
I like yaraparios attitude about buying local quality bud. Be a Patriot, buy local.
