Meh, seemingly everything causes cancer, humans die, its what we do, there is already quite a few people around if not one else noticed.

I am not looking forward to seeing tougher regulation by governments though. At least when it comes to my drinks, whatever that means.

 

Science has taught me that EVERYTHING causes cancer, from fast food wrappers to alcohol. If you take this shit too seriously you're just going to spend your whole life living in fear.

Smoke, drink, use microwaves and eat fast food. Just live your life, for fucks sake.

 

The alcohol thing makes sense since my father was a heavy drinker for almost 30 years and he was diagnosed with cancer last year...

This is pure unadulterated truth. I doubt many can really comprehend how they've compromised their health simply by eating what is generally accepted as a "healthy" diet- let alone slow poisoning through alcohol consumption.

Preservatives, colors, manufactured sugars- which are added not for nutritional value but to enhance profitability in one way or another get ingested and either metabolized or stored. The alcohol industry and food industry, like any other business (including health care!) exists for one purpose only: to make money.

The problem is that most people fail to exercise due vigilance over what they stick in their bodies... at best relying on the "Nutrition Facts" bold propaganda instead of investigating the more factual and micro-print ingredients list which details the types of poisons to be ingested.

If attention can be diverted to demonizing alcohol then inattention is effectively fostered as cover for more slow poisoning in the interest of profitability elsewhere.

Alcohol is straight up poison manufactured for corporate profit. Personally I prefer more natural means of relaxing.. :sifone:

 

Making your own beer from organic ingredients is pretty easy. Comparatively, it doesn't cost all that much either. My thought though from the article was not that it was necessarily the added chemicals that caused the cancer, but the alcohol itself. However, I am pretty sure that there have been quite a few studies that have shown that moderate consumption of alcohol tends to lead to a longer life.

We as a society seem to put so much emphasis on length of life. All that really matters is quality of life and the joy that was derived from it. Don't think that a short life was lived in vain. Enjoyment is all that matters when life is at its end.
