My husband drinks Coca-Cola like water, there's no stopping him. He knows how unhealthy it is, but whatever. But I'm stuck with dozens of soda bottles to deal with. He goes through a 2-liter a day, and two or three smaller bottles. There's no recycling place in the area, so they all wind up in the garbage and it's just so wasteful I don't know what to do. He also doesn't like "trashy" looking stuff around the house. He's very yuppie. Does anyone have ideas for reducing the amount of plastic soda bottle in my trash? I'm already thinking about making an herb planter with the tops, and I have funnels already.
pour out half of the bottle, and then piss in it... that will break him of that habit! :biggrinjester: seriously though, all joking aside; in my general area, the natural food supermarket, sun harvest market, does take the bottles for recycling, as does the hardware superstore, lowe's. i read in todays local newspaper, that the city transit system is looking into the ideal of setting up recycle bins at the bus stops. i read a couple of years back, about a guy in russia, who built a house out of nothing but plastic bottles. there are a few ideals to get your imagination going! :2thumbsup:
I brew beer and do not have a glass bottle capper so i use the 20 oz to bottle my beer. Recycle them or reuse them is the best you could do unless you convince him to stop drinking so many sodas. EDIT: Buy 3 litres like someone said would reduce plastic.
