Nothing is determined. 47 Billion got slashed from the budget. From discretionary funds, so no cuts to military spending. It's likely that planned paranthood and the CNCS will be cut significantly but nobody knows the details yet.
That made me laugh, thank you. Its the most degrading thing, that they're attacking these honest, productive orginizations. One of the cuts that was going to happen in the shutdown, even though it didn't happen, was clinical trials, medicare, ect. Why cut the things that are progressive? Its like they're snipping our achilles tendons, preventing us from moving forward. it feels like a trap.
Divide and conquer... Make a segment feel imperiled by threatening a program and encourage open grass roots debate that advocates the cut so the population remains at one another's throat. Each segment is treated thusly... trade Planned Parenthood for Social Security, etc... Propaganda... and mass manipulation. As long as we're kept divided we pose no threat to their real agenda.
cutting planned parenthood is going to lead to more unwanted children that could potentially end up in our country's welfare system. Its going to create a cyclical problem. I don't really know what was decided about it, I haven't checked the news yet. Its obvious that stinkfoot is completely right about dividing and conquering. A certain portion of the population is going to buy into this hook line and sinker, thinking that planned parenthood encourages abortion and therefore is a problem of a moral nature. That will in turn allow those that support PP to be labeled immoral, thus creating a problem and a division in the population where no division truly exists. Its politics at its worst. or best, depending on how you look at it.
Isn't planned parent hood a self sustaining business model, also doesn't the government money given to them help for those who are considered low income to be able to get help that they probably wouldn't be able to without them.
It's the individuals right to choose, but along with rights there are responsibilities, so just don't send me the bill for which ever choice is made.
The military budget has large sums of money that are not accouted for. The fact that we are not making the military account for this money, the fact that we are cutting other programs instead in a pathetic attempt to balance the budget is simply insulting.
Planned parenthood doesn't fall under the military budget, and what government programs actually provide a full accounting of how their budgets are spent, or mis-spent as the case may be?
................................................................................................... I beleive, off the top of my head, that The US has 12 Aircraft carrier groups. Each carrier alone has a crew of 5,000 sailors; this does not include support ships. sounds a bit superfulous. France has one carrier, UK: none at this time. China is re-launching their very first aircraft carrier, a re-conditioned ship purchased from Ukraine. If we want to break the deficit we need to spread the pain all around.
This is all just spinach and oatmeal for the re-cycle bins. People are now wanting everything to go to the landfill just like those organics in detail.
Give Europe a turn policing the world, but even if you eliminated the military entirely you still would not balance the budget, and most likely that money would still be spent creating additional debt but on something else. Debts good, it gives future generations something to work for and builds character. One solution to eliminating deficits would be to pass a law mandating an across the board tax rate increase to meet the budget requirements. If you can't decrease the spending, at least quit passing it on to future generations. Government spending will continue to grow, and about the best you can hope for in the future will be rate of growth decreases. If nothing else, taxes will eventually have to be increased just to pay the interest on the debt.
That's just fine. I'll pay my taxes if it will make my country a better place...but why are the rich people getting effing TAX BREAKS AND BAILOUTS!!??? If they'd trim off some of the fat on defense and campaign funds it would be an ocean of money compared to the tiny speck that is planned parenthood. they're not saving money, its not a budget cut. Its freedom cut.
Fact Check. The Wars in Afghanistan were paid mostly with funding under the discretionary budget, the same type of spending that supports some social programs like CNCS.
