Can anyone give me some names of their better songs so I can listen to them and see if seeing them would be worth it?

I saw them twice. The first time was at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. I had never heard them before, but since I'd heard people say how good they were I decided to check them out. They Rocked !! I saw them several months later at the UNO arena too. They are definitely worth seeing.

I only have one album by them, Ball. It's pretty good, but I'm not to familiar with their other albums.

If you have Kazaa or some other file sharing soft ware just do a search for them and download a bunch of songs. Then compare the names of your favorite songs against the playlist on their albums at Amazon.com to figure out which album they're on. That's how I find out if a band is good or not anyway.

If you are looking to check out more of their stuff - www.digitalpanic.org is a community of online panic fans that share shows. Also, you can live stream shows from www.nugz.net if you have broadband.

I listen to Light Fuse Get Away a lot coz it's live and sounds great. I really enjoy Love Tractor on that one. If you've never heard them much, I recommend it for a first taste. I like Ball too, for more recent stuff.

Yeah, I was hoping for a NYE comeback too, but just as well, since I can't afford to travel right now. Hoping 10000 Lakes Fest will get them back next summer too.

okay, now I got it straight its:

    http://web1.nugs.net/default.asp

well, it took me some time to get into panic. during the mid 90's when I was going to good 20 or so Phish shows a year, I had friends on the road play them for me and I couldn't quite get into it. then when I saw my first panic show in I think it was 98 or so, I had almost no desire to phish anymore. panic is just a better 'band' imo. of course around the same time this is when I and many people started to notice trey's ego start to take over the phish experience, which is the ultimate reason why they no longer are playing together.

    some tracks to check out.

Pleas (audience recording, not the best, but one of my fav panic songs)

Lol... yeah... man, I coulda told you guys Panic is coming back. Once upon a time... a long time ago... J.B., Sonny, Hauser, and a few other people lived in Athens and "attended" UGA... so did my aunt kelly. Back then she was known as Kelly Jo Davis, but now she's married to a blues guy named Tinsley Ellis, so she has a new last name... Uncle T used to play with Panic too, but he was a bluesman at the same time Stevie Ray was gettin big. Uncle T liked the blues too much to really be in the band with them, plus he had his band the Heart Fixers back then. He was still friends with Widespread though, and he met my aunt throught them 'cause at one time, she was the legendary female singer that no one knows about anymore.

Before Space Wrangler came out, she was with Panic singing background, and sometimes even lead vocals, but seeing as she can be kinda a hardass (I should know... I grew up with the woman watching me a good many of my childhood years!), she kinda got dismissed from the band, but things never got ugly. She had fallen in love with Uncle T, and she was kinda liking the idea of settling down and starting a family. I can't say I remember meeting the band all that well when I was a kid, but I remember Sonny's wife... also named Kelly (I think she spells it differently though) and she used to chill with my aunt a lot until she moved to Atlanta where my family and Tinsley's families all lived at the time.

Anyways, when I was like 14 I spent the summer with her at Uncle T's family's cabin, and she told me she wanted to take me to Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta to go backstage and chill with Widespread. Man, it was weird to me 'cause I was a Skynyrd fan, and it was all so strange and weird to me at the time... I left the show really wondering if I liked it or not, but I had met some cool people along the way and I got a lot of free beer from this dude who was like awesome as hell. We just stood there looking at this huge crowd of like a million stoned hippies, and the dude taught me about bongs, and why people have dreadlocks, and how Panic had provided so much more for people than just music alone.

Two years later, while I was at boarding school, I got to go see them again... without my aunt this time! Man, it was the most awesome thing ever... I ended up with this backstage pass that let me take a few of my friends with me, but we didn't really take more than like 6 or 7 people total... Most of those dudes hadn't even seen a girl in a good while, much less a band, so it was like Heaven to get to meet the band and chill for a minute with them. My old history teacher- Franky T as some people called him- was a HUGE Panic head and the dude was a great teacher as well. He kinda gave us this speach about not doing anything we might regret later, but then he said... "Well... if you do end up doing anything... don't let me see you doing it... I'd hate to have to look the other way." I ran into the man with a joint in hand, but it was okay 'cause he was hittin someone's bong, and we each looked the other way and never said a word. On the way home... he hit up this gas station and went inside to pay for the gas while we all stocked up on snacks and drinks (I dunno why...) and then Franky T turned to the German exchange student we took with us and he said "Hannes... I've never seen so many cookies in my LIFE!" it was awesome...

Anyways, I tend to end up getting word on some shit before it's really even finalized or released, so if any of you guys are wonderin' about some shit with Widespread (it feels weird callin' 'em Panic now that Hauser passed on...) then holla at me and maybe I can help you guys...

As far as New Years goes.... I guess you guys will find out soon enough, but I don't think they've really decided yet... there's some talk tho... give it a few days....

    Peace

Last Panic we saw was 4-20-02 and they kicked arse Fo-ReAL.

Without Mickey is a little strange but I'll still be there and we'll see how it goes.

They need to pick it up.
