This is from one of my journal entries here on the Hip Forums. I thought I'd share it here so that it would be more accessible as an analysis of ignorance as a form of security. Do you find this form of defense immoral to the self as it is denying a chance for growth? Let me know what you think:

Specification limits possibility, perfection implies a stoppage of growth. Ideas draw upon a vast ocean of endless variation, concentrating random information into a single cohesive concept capable of application to a number of situations in the physical realm. Failed attempts to act on select ideas result in a dissonant energy towards the self as one confides in the fruit of their neurological loins, often hoping to expand and assert a self-image onto the minds of others, unable to comprehend the foreign system in use throughout this separate universe of mind. When compared to the space around them, of which they are also a part, they cannot fathom the lack of limitations on the mind as such an ever-expansive space can exist within something that seems so small and simple. Nothing exists to be experienced in the absence of a perspective consciousness just as a song cannot be heard without an audience. Preconceptions involving perfection and specificity impair the production of ideas involving growth and variation from preexisting concepts in the mind of the individual. Such preconceptions develop as a result of unjust confidence in the self and the unnecessary harm perceived when one’s ideas inherit negative criticism. This is done by assigning defense, ceasing introspective growth, and unjustly acknowledging one’s conceptual ideas as established fact throughout the universe of self. Otherwise, the ego becomes subject to suppression and submission to that of another person’s work, capable of acceptance and growth or denial and defensive behavior. During instances when the latter prevails, the individual shuts the door on such an opportunity to learn, internally, which often manifests, externally, as offensive behavior; hate. However, when the former prevails, one learns and is bettered, often gaining, intellectually, from such an experience.
