Phone Psychics?

I am skeptical...I recently had a phone appointment with a well renowned psychic out of New York. Although some of the things she's said has been accurate, I am hesitant to believe that she really was speaking to my father from the other side. Knowing how my psychic abilities work, I need to be in the presence of someone in order to feel and read their energy.

Any opinions on this?

 

Ever heard of cold reading?

I don't believe in any of it. Believe more in the ability to read someone's tone of voice, body language, etc. Was the information she told you very general? Or was it specific things that only you and your father knew and you didn't give her idea might have been true?

 

I've done a long-distance cold reading that was specific and accurate. Well, just one time - it was a gift from the spirits that they don't seem to be willing to grant on a regular, predictable basis. I didn't know a single stinkin' thing about the guy - he was someone I'd never met before who said just about nothing besides asking for a reading. So I tried it - somewhat doubting that I could really do it - yet I got very definite psychic signals via symbolic visuals in answer to questions I asked the spirits, and I interpreted the symbols. I told him about his school/career - well, really the lack of school/career - and about his relationship status and prospects. He verified all of it.

So from the one time I can see how it can certainly be done - maybe by someone to whom the spirits are more generous.

I tend to think that if you need to be in the person's presence to read them, it's probably not psychic, but rather intuiting from body language and speech.

I must admit that years ago I did use a phone psychic more than once...they were always accurate (I guess I was lucky) and I was told nothing vague. I did not "lead them" either! Having said that, I would never recommend a phone psychic now as I highly question their legitimacy, feeling that a "true" psychic would not have to resort to such to make a living.
Just for the record, I trust myself, instincts, and whatever now; so, I haven't called a psychic for a looong time now.

Well I feel the woman I went through was rather accurate...I just find it hard to really trust that she could sense the energy of my father or myself. Maybe it's because I'm still tapping into my intuition and I haven't gotten that far yet

 

Psychic/spiritual phenomena are outside of space/time. In the spirit plane, or whatever you want to call it, time and location are meaningless. That's why things like clairvoyance and telepathy can occur between people who live on the far two ends of a continent.

I don't do phone readings and I don't charge money for any of my readings. I know many psychics, mediums and readers who struggle with distance readings, particularly over the phone or internet because of all the electro-magnetic interference. This hasn't been a problem for me, I mostly read online, its usually the best way I do it. I find I come up with accurate readings most of the time. I suppose its different for every reader. Sure there are loads of fakes out there but I wouldn't dismiss all of them. If you want to get an online reading, I suggest viewing the website a few times before parting with money. Some online readers are so obviously bullshitters its unbelievable, particularly ones who give you a free reading then email you the next week saying they've found out that you can get loads of money, and if you pay them they'll tell you how. Some are very much for real, but they don't usually have 'amazing' looking websites, the idea being that if Spirit want to reach ppl through you, they'll guide them to you.

 

Psychics are real... but true psychics who have honed their abilities enough to speak to the other side are rare. Anyone, given the correct guidabce and enough practice, could become a psychic. It takes a long time though... I have been working on it for years now. I have learned quite a bit though, but I am nowhere near good enough to say that I am psychic. I'm a medium.... but I find it easiest to speak to ghosts using a ouija board.
Everyone has psychic abilites, some stronger than others, but if not used often enough abilities can become dormant

 

I used to believe your first statement that I bolded. Sonia Choquette, a renowned Chicago psychic, has made this a cornerstone of her life's work - she writes books and teaches workshops to help people develop their psychic abilities. But I'm not sure I believe this anymore. I might believe your second statement that I bolded to some extent - except that I think there are some people who are simply not psychic, and never will be. My current belief, based on my own "psychic" experiences, is that it all depends on each individual's spiritual path in any given lifetime.

If Fingermouse showed up here, as she does on occasion, she would tell you something to the effect that she used to ardently pursue psychic abilities, but eventually came to the "enlightened" conclusion that she simply is not psychic - and furthermore she now spends a fair amount of energy trying to convince other people pursuing psychic abilities that they're wasting their time. From my own experiences it's more than obvious to me that some people, myself included, can to some extent develop and hone their psychic abilities. But on the other hand, I believe that Fingermouse gave a genuine effort to this same enterprise, yet she never developed any kind of psychic ability.

And in my mind, my telepathic "spirit guide" Deanna says that some people will never be psychic. Psychic experience is mediated at the spirit level, for reasons related to spiritual paths. If the spirits don't supply the psychic impressions, no amount of meditation or practice is going to elicit them. By the same token, if you never give it a genuine effort, you'll never know if you can. And I think there's an inherent value to the act of looking for psychic insights. It never hurts to look more deeply into one's own psyche.

And I will add this: It took me almost 50 years before the spirits supplied me with the kinds of amazing experiences that I'm now writing my book about, and there were lots of times I thought nothing like this could ever happen to me. I think I do believe that if a person is open to the possibility, and applies sincere intent in humility for a long time, the spirits might finally grant the seeker's wishes. And in my mind Deanna says, "I can tell you that is fuckin' right."

 

It took me far less than 50 years to be able to communicate or even just to pick up signs from the spirits. I'm 18 now, and I have been communicating with ghosts since I was 11, but it was reported that I told of ghost sightings and spoke to a woman named Jean when I was a child. Anyway, this just proves that it takes less effort and energy for some people to speak to the other side than others

 

Yup, so there you are, and Bob's your uncle. I've never communicated with a ghost that I'm aware of - only with real people telepathically, and apparently on occasion with what seems to be a disembodied spirit guide of some sort. Which to me proves that even in the psychic realm, different people have different paths and abilities. Of course, I've really never had much interest in talking to ghosts, so maybe that's one reason it's never happened. As I like to say whenever the opportunity presents itself: I don't communicate with the dead - I have enough trouble communicating with the living.

 

I don't necessarily communicate with spirits, but I find that I'm more sensitive to their presence than others. I really need to start focusing on channeling my energy so I can communicate easier.

Have you ever done an investigation on a past life? By the sounds of it, your sensitivity to the other side might be more than meets the eye...

 

Yeah, I've noticed that spirits only talk to those who have a real desire or a need to communicate with them, unless the ghost feels that there is something you can help them with.

And as for channeling energy... if you want I could inbox you a few tips and exercises that you can do that really helped me? It doesn't take very long to learn to control your energy enough to communicate with spirits and even do spells if given the right guidance.
And in fact I did do some investigation on my past lives... turns out this is my sixth life, and before I was me I was a girl who died when she was just 14. happy, right?

 

I have had a reading over the phone many times. I found it to be deceptively precise.

 

Of people who GET PAID TO DO THIS,you should be....

They just want the $$$,REAL PEOPLE WHO DO THIS WILL NOT CHARGE ANYTHING and thier readings will be MUCH MORE DETAILED,etc........

 

Well I applied for a job as one of these just to see how easy it was. They simply wanted someone who was available at certain times, could speak English and was willing to work for minimum wage. They had no other expectations. Psychic abilities was not listed as a job requirement. It'd be beyond ridiculous to assume that every applicant would have psychic abilities rather than being just a person looking for some easy money who is given guidelines about what to say to callers. Obviously. Look up psychic phone line jobs.
