This sounds a little sappy, but I gotta get it out. My son has turned my life around. I never planned on being a father. I always thought I'd go through life never knowing what it'd be like. Every day I look my boy my heart swells with affection and love. It's a love I've not felt for a long time, and it really filled a void that I had in my heart. Work, friends, and drinking always dominated my life until recently. I'm not even gonna lie to you. It took a little while to change that programing, but ultimatly realized in order to be a good father that had to change. Anthony was the catalyst that turned my life around. Made me stop and get my shit in order. Thank you son. I hope daddy can make you proud.
Love hearing stories like this!! To many people take parenting as a right of passage and not a privilege, because that's truly what it is, a privilege to have a child. Glad to hear you're taking advantage of the time you have with your child!
He's helped me mature, but it's good I had him when I was 26 and not say... any younger age than that. I get to watch cartoons again too.
Yeah, but mostly for the boy. We've been working on it though. There really isn't much there, but we try.
Good for you lodog. I didn't know what true love was, until I had children--and I didn't know I didn't know it--if you know what I mean. He's a cute little bugger-you'll do him proud,I'm sure.
First of all congratulations!!! YES he does!!! I don't plan on ever having kids, but if I did they'd definitely wear some grateful dead kiddy clothes!!! good stuff :sunny:
Keep it up. A single family is way better for a child's well being. However, what the child doesn't know about the specifics of your relationship won't hurt him. It's a lovely story, glad to hear it
