This sounds a little sappy, but I gotta get it out. My son has turned my life around.

I never planned on being a father. I always thought I'd go through life never knowing what it'd be like. Every day I look my boy my heart swells with affection and love. It's a love I've not felt for a long time, and it really filled a void that I had in my heart.

Work, friends, and drinking always dominated my life until recently. I'm not even gonna lie to you. It took a little while to change that programing, but ultimatly realized in order to be a good father that had to change. Anthony was the catalyst that turned my life around. Made me stop and get my shit in order. Thank you son. I hope daddy can make you proud.

You're getting to see the world anew- through the eyes of an innocent child.

Love hearing stories like this!! To many people take parenting as a right of passage and not a privilege, because that's truly what it is, a privilege to have a child. Glad to hear you're taking advantage of the time you have with your child!

He's helped me mature, but it's good I had him when I was 26 and not say... any younger age than that.

I get to watch cartoons again too.

Yeah, but mostly for the boy.

We've been working on it though. There really isn't much there, but we try.

Apologies. Most of my understanding comes from Red Dwarf reruns and Jason Stathom movies.

Good for you lodog. I didn't know what true love was, until I had children--and I didn't know I didn't know it--if you know what I mean. He's a cute little bugger-you'll do him proud,I'm sure.

I gotta keep it real sometimes. I'll go days at a time without posting anything of merit.

Keep it up. A single family is way better for a child's well being.
However, what the child doesn't know about the specifics of your relationship won't hurt him.

It's a lovely story, glad to hear it :)
