making weed brownies today!

Thanks Skip! I agree with everything you have said. The reason I mentioned bacon grease was not for brownies. I was originally thinking about a hot bacon grease mustard dressing for a spinach salad. Just another way to intoduce food to self medicate. The bacon grease is also good for some other baking but not for brownies.

Jennifer. If you can find a box that calls for butter then get that one. If it says oil then as Skip said you can still use butter.

I think most box mixes call for 3 ounces of butter. I feel that one stick of butter is best, after you infuse the butter and weed and strain out the plant material you end up with somewhere between 3.25 and 3.75 ounces of weed butter. I suggest use the 3 ounces it's called for in the box and then use the rest to grease the pan, both non sitck and juat awsome. After than just put any left over butter on some tost or something.

 

my pot butter is made in a slowcooker. i dont make it myself though. it lives in my freezer

well, sorry i didn't update right away!
but, we did use that recipe, and it actually worked really well! we got a batch of 16 brownies, and each ate one, and my friend planned on selling them all, but ended up selling only a few and eating the rest because they worked so well!
we took into consideration too, that eating a brownie on an empty stomach might yield better results... and it did!

 

How long was the high? and you had the stove on meduim low? right?

 

it lasted me, basically all night.
i'm only 5"4 and 120 though, other kids who ate them were mostly huge lanky dudes, and they said they got high for a few hours from it.
but, we were smoking bud too anyway. i told them it was almost not worth us making the brownies, if all they wanted to do was smoke! but really, it was pretty awesome

and yes, of course... we cooked it slow. it was almost 40 minutes before we decided it was ready.

 

that's good. it must have been hard to tell how high they mad you feel, if you were smoking too. I cooked the pot with oil on the stove. until it was a brown color. my sister is a light weight and it dosen't take much for her to get high. she had one and it didn't go good at all.
