Here's a full listing of the ridings, showing which ones are swing ridings, and which way a person should vote to best get rid of harper and his cons. http://regressiveconservative.ca/voting-guide.php
Fuck I don't want to vote for NDP but if it get's those worthless slouches out, I might have to reconsider
Im voting NDP, because theres nothing on their platform that I disagree with and I would rather have Layton over Ignatieff-- plus their more pot friendly. I think the liberals and NDP should form a coalition, thats the logical thing to do to get harper out of power and its better than the Conservatives
If Harper gets re-elected under a minority government he won't get the confidence vote of the house. In which case the NDP and the Liberals might get a shot at running things... shhhh..... Don't use the "c" word until the election is over. It scares people who are too lazy to look up what it really is.
I'm not particularly represented by any party, but the Conservatives hardly seem worse than the Liberals.
A note on that list... it was based on the last election results... The current swing between ndp and liberals, changes things... You can see seat projections based on ongoing polls here; http://threehundredeight.blogspot.com/
So...essentially the Bloc is giving up a seat to the Liberals and the rest stays the fucking same... Are people really that daft?
Well that was why I pointed out the original list was only based on the last election. It seems that the ndp may take a chunk out of quebec... This is the difficult part, because the polls from day to day don't mean enough to know which way to vote. Then there is the prefer vs actual to consider... in any poll, I am unquestionably a green supporter. Even if I was in a swing riding, I would still say the same, but I would put my vote where I thought it would do the most good to defeat the cons... This is what really sucks about our system... without proportional representation, a shift of 10% can be meaningless if spread across the country, or it could change the whole landscape if focused on the right ridings...
Yea, our system is fucked up, and very flawed. For example, 940,000 Canadians voted for the Green Party in the last election. Let's call it one million for arguments sake. But because those votes were spread across Canada and not collective in one specific area, the Greens don't get a seat. So what we've got is one million Canadians who's voices and ideals are completely unheard in parliament. That's a terrible excuse of an electoral system. One million Canadian's opinions don't matter is what that is essentially "saying". It's plain stupid to have a system wherein votes must be collected in one specific area in order to matter and count to win one a seat in the House of Commons. People don't work that way...life doesn't work that way. One can't just expect all the Liberals of Canada to live in one area, all the Cons to live in another (Alberta, Saskatchewan), all the Greens to live in another. If that were the case, then the Greens and NDP would have more seats, but that's not real life. Really, with the way our system is set up, the only votes that actually matter are those cast for the most popular person in each riding. All the other votes in that riding don't really mean shit when all is said and done. That's no reason not to vote, but it's a damn good reason to fix our poor excuse of an electoral system.

They aren't just getting rid of democracy here, they're assassinating it and shitting on it's grave. My blood boils every time I have to see that smug pile of shit on the news.
