With the wide disparity in ages here on HF, I was just curious how many never got to see him. :(

I saw them about 50 times, 1973-1994, all shows in New England or Madison Square Garden.

Nope. I'm glad I knew nothing of jerry before he died. I wouldn't want to have experienced the loss.

We were probably at many of the same shows.

I saw them at MSG as many times as possible.

    I'm 1976-1994
    I estimate between 75-100 times.

I spread out from New England-mostly up and down East Coast. I don't think I ever made it further west than Philly. lol

    I enjoyed all shows
I still miss Jerry very much.

    I was quite a rookie-obviously

    Two huge memories.
    1. 20 min. Playin' - my buddies were passing out and all I could think is how awesome it was.

    2. Sugar Magnolia - I've never seen so many people so happy at the same time. I had never seen 15,000 people sing and dance every note in unison.

    What was your 1st show?
    Any specific memories?

    April 2, 1973 Boston Garden.

I've written extensively about how I became a Deadhead and some of my earliest shows at Sunfighters Dead Shows

We took our kids to a few shows at Buckeye Lake in the early '90s, they were aged 6 and 9. They could sell jewelry quite effectively, they more than earned their tickets! They both have good memories of those days, and actually have an appreciation for having seen such a legendary act. Not bragging or anything, just sharing what I think was a good parental decision.

Unfortunately not as I was born a bit too late ('94) :( He definitely lives on though!

88' Dylan and the Dead in Philly. I actually was excited to see Dylan and then was blown away by the Dead. 'Touch of Grey' was just getting big. Saw about 20 shows up to the last one in CHicago before Jerry died. Mostly East Coast and midwest. Saw a few Oakland shows around New Years in 89 or 90.
Almost saw my first show when some Army buds went to the Halloween show near Ft. Jackson SC in 85'. Columbia maybe? I couldn't leave base for some reason. Probably grounded. lol

I luved that place. Pine trees in the seating areas. lol

Sorry to be picky, but Dylan and the Dead did not play Philly in '88. Perhaps it was '87.

Correct you are sir, 1987. Veterans Stadium I believe the venue was called. Huge place. Craziest looking freaks I'd ever seen in my life. Must've been 80.000. I turned into a Deadhead that weekend. Camped out in a park across the street. Tore up my starter wheel on a curb leaving the park. Broke clean in half. Luckily a cool Italian local named Hector helped me get her to a garage and let me camp at his moms and grandmas row house while my starter wheel got replaced. Those were some great times!
Added note: My seats were way back and being the first time seeing the Dead and not really noing what they looked like, tripping my head off, I thought the fat guitar player singing was Buddha. LOL
