Your Highness Movie Blurb by Shale April 12, 2011 Went to this movie at a 4:20 p.m. “Rush Hour” matinee today that only costs $5 at the Wehrenberg Theater here in St. Charles. Glad I didn’t waste more money on this. I had seen the trailers and knew it was a farcical fairy tale but had to go see James Franco and Natalie Portman in it. I thot it would be one of the PG-13 kid movies but you soon realize after a few exposed female breasts and certain sexual suggestions that it had to be rated R. There were a few lafs but very few and I have to agree with the majority of reviewers and about half of audiences that it is not a very good movie. If you need a story - Warrior Prince Fabious (James Franco) comes back from a successful quest, killing a Cyclops and rescuing the beautiful maiden Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel) They are to be married but the evil sorcerer Leezar (Justin Theroux) steals her back and plans to impregnate her to make a dragon. Fabious is about to set off and rescue his fiancé again and the King orders his hedonistic, slacker brother, Thadeous (Danny R. McBride) to go with him. Thadeous takes his “page” and best friend/companion Boremont (Damian Lewis) with him. (Lots of homoerotic innuendo in this movie). On the way they encounter another warrior, Isabel (Natalie Portman) and with some back and forth deceptions they eventually join forces to pursue the evil sorcerer and prevent him from deflowering the maiden. Isabel, Thadeous, Fabious & Belladonna on a Quest This movie would likely appeal to late teens – I guess over 17 since it is R rated. The humor is quite crude and there are scat and sexual gags that mostly fall flat and one very daring full frontal of a minotaur who was humping Boremont.
I found it to be pretty funny, despite the more crude humor, like you said. Some of it was pretty immature, but I really enjoyed some of the mannerisms, especially those by Danny McBride's character.
