I know the internet isn't the place to ask for legal advice, but I'm just wondering if anyone here has any idea.. I was kept overnight in a cell the other night whilst tripping balls, they had no criminal charges gainst me cause I wasn't holdin' anything and soon as I was declared sane they let me go the next morning. I could go down and ask, but frankly I don't want to too much right now, got a bad leg and it's a way away. If advice turns out I got to I will go n ask. But will this have been placed on a criminal record? I admitted to having taken LSD on the night, although this was technically a lie it was still illegal drugs I was on, quite obviously. What you guys reckon?
Paranoia!! If you weren't charged then you won't have a problem with any CRB checks but if the police radio to the station when they stop you in the street and radio back to the station they'll most probably say about when you were arrested for being on drugs. I was arrested once for being in a car where someone stole a wheel from earlier and put it on the car and when i get stopped by police it comes back on the radio as 'car theft' car theft??? i wasn't even charged and it was a wheel... !!
I don't understand your post to be honest man. I think you're telling me it's unlikely and that I'm 'over-reacting'. I don't get what you're saying about the wheel and the radioing to the station and back to the station.
I was with someone who earlier stole a wheel from a car, i got arrested even though i was no part of the theft and wasn't charged yet on the police system they have me down as being arrested for car theft. As in the police are stop and searching people in the area because a crime has been commit and when they radio my name to the station the police will say to that officer straight away about the car theft thing. I suspect if you get stopped and searched etc they will be informed of you getting arrested for being on drugs. Nothing will come up on a CRB check even an enhanced one though something may show up if you are trying to get a really high up government job role but these are very rare. Basically it'll be on the Police database but won't go any further so there's nothing to worry about.
Cheers for the clarification. I don't think I even told them I was on drugs until later at the station, they just thought I was wacko.
If you told them then i'd suspect they'd definitely have it written down as they like to build intelligence.
For fuck's sake - You haven't got a criminal record coz you weren't charged with anything. To get a criminal record you have to be charged and convicted. There will be a record of your arrest on the police national computer, but that means fuck all. If in future, you're having dealings with a copper and he/she asks you "Are you known to us?"(they always ask this, it's another way of asking have you been in trouble...in other words have you got a record), you can legitimately reply no...Coz you haven't. Lord preserve us from thick people. Honestly, you really shouldn't be breaking the law if you're this clueless about it. Sorry that sounded a bit mean. I've tripped in a cell btw...Not much fun is it lol?

I thought the whole thing was in my head at the time, was bein proper playful with my actions/questions thinking it was a lucid dream or something wondering how my head was conjuring up the inards of a police station when I'd never seen one before.. oh dear
I must admit I was properly crapping myself - I thought I was behind the iron curtain and had been "disappeared" by the Stasi. Sounds ridiculous now but I was genuinely terrified I wasn't going to see daylight again. Still, something to tell the grandchildren about :2thumbsup:

The big scary police came to my house in SE London once, just to check my mate was giving the proper address. He still hasn't got a criminal record, apart from being pissed in charge of a pushbike, the only guy on planet earth? That particular night was a really warm one in London. He was arrested outside horse guards parade, trying to pick a fight with the armed squaddies at the entrance. He was dressed in czech army boots , baggy shorts and a hideous checked shirt , a shirt loud enough to get busted . Apparently he needed to get some psychic steam brewed up for the event - acid, speed , grass and Prozac.! He used to swallow Prozac by the bucketload, so I don't know how much ammo he loaded into his brains that night....coulda been a bandolier ... And......he was not charged - he left the jug the next day...!!
