So like make a pick from pine tree forest mountain, city, suburban, desert, grand canyon cliff like places, salt flats, rain forest mainland, tropical island, Peru like mountain which are very diffrent from like british columbia type mountains, Antartica snow, north artic snow place like a tundra, deciduous woods like illnois, plains of endless grassland, and the other ones that I forgot.

oh and be specific. for example there are different kinds of deserts, woods and forests. for example the sahara desert in africa and death valley in california look very different.

anyhow I would say I like deciduous woods the most. I like all the colorful trees in fall. and hiking in the woods and the creeks and stuff. but really this was a super hard choice for me because I really like all the different environments. and I love to travel and explore.

but my other close choices is tropical island because I love islands and I love that most of them have small rain forests with cool trails. though not near as neat as a brazilian or asian rain forest still cool. and grand canyon like places. I love hiking at the very bottom with huge cliffs towering above you.

Edit: and I mean like a big zone. like a big territory. so like no restuarants and stuff like that. if you pick restaurant then you should just pick urban area or suburban.

also I forgot to add this at first but I meant what would be your favorite area to live in if you had a choice and had to be there for a while. I know some of you might like them all but which one would you prefer to live in for the long term.

for example I would hate to live in a desert for a long time. nothing to do very boring. not much to see.

Woods- and hills to climb... four season weather... I like them all. I think my favorite spot would be atop a mountain with an overlooking vista- to the southwest- enabling me to not only survey many square miles of land but to watch the weather approach... thunderstorms.

Where I grew up is pretty well my favorite type of environment. Countryside, hundreds of acres of fields in every direction, trees that line and separate the fields from one another, tree shade to sit under. Certain spots of large hills, some that dip into a creek or small river that cuts through the land. Tall grass to lay in, a good view of the sky at night. Big maple trees to climb. Four seasons as well, they're all appealing in their own ways. I like the way thick snow covers fields, stretching far without any seams, like in the movie Fargo.

I think its a tie between the rolling hills and forests of the southern Appalachian mountains and the coastal areas from Virginia to Georgia.

I find reasons to fall in love with any type of climate I visit, but these two hold the most personal and nostalgic value for me. I know exactly what the air smells and feels like in both environments.

I like mixed conifer forests the best. I like lots of firs and cedars and hemlock. That is what I grew up with and I also love the herbaceous plants that inhabit mixed forests.

I roam the BC Coast Mountain Cedar-Hemlock belt, but I spend a fair bit of time in the various terrain around here depending on what I am doing (working, hunting, fishing, hiking, climbing, skiing).

I ate at an Italian restaurant not long ago with a great environment. Food was average though.

Anywhere there are trees. With a mandolin and a glass of Southern Comfort. Some herb on the side.

That's a fine rest of my life right there.

    My favorite ecosystems???

Ahhhhh there's too damn many! I can't narrow that down.

Tell you what, I'll just list and describe the ones I like:

I like the biodiversity and the beauty of the tropical cloud forests of the Andes mountains. But at the same time the tropical rainforests and mountain forests of Hawaii may be less biodiverse, but there's a LOT less lethal insects and poisonous critters you gotta watch out for. Seriously, the South American rainforest has some real nasty ones. One bite from a certain centipede and you're dead. Get bit by a botfly and it might of laid eggs under your skin, get bit by a mosquito you could get malaria.

I love tall mountains and rolling hills. Which is why Alaska is freakin' awesome. I love the Northwest: Lots of tall evergreen trees which look alive in the winter. Moving to Eastern Europe from the Northwest was kind of a depressing shocker to me. All the deciduous trees over there, everything looked dead and depressing. I love them in the fall though. I want to hike the Appalachian trail in the autumn someday. The coast! Everything about the coast, I love it.

I never really appreciated the desert and driving through eastern Oregon or central Nevada until I discovered how beautiful red rock formations were.

    Cities.
    Particularly the poor section, row-homes.

Victory Drive in Savannah, Georgia. Anywhere on MLK before Broughton Street. For that matter anywhere on the lower Westside in the downtown district. Shit gets mad fucked up.
