Hey guys! Brand new to the forums here. Decided to join since i had been reading for a little while and found my self always coming back around. I have had moderate to severe back pain for the last 3 years. I have never been to a doctor for it. I got turned on to opiates about a year ago and have been using them for rec but mainly for my back pain. I keep finding myself in shady situations due to the lack of prescription, and im getting tired of it. Should I go see a doc? Thanks !
You've had severe back pain for 3 years and never been to a doctor? Yeah, you should have gone to the doctor more than 2 years ago.
Whats your tolerence like.? What Opiate do you use the most? How much of this opiate do you have to take to get the pain down to a level u can live with? How much of this opiate does it take for you to get high?
Its been 30mg Roxycodone, and i might take 4-5 a week total (due to financial reasons and they rediculous price i pay for them.) I can live without them, but its borderline miserable to sit in a chair for more than 45 mins. (and im enrolled in two, 3 hour classes) For me to get high of them i have to have at least 45 mg in my system. Thanks
Try smoking a big joint of good weed or getting some strong edibles. Don't need opiates, they'll addict you for sure if you take 'em all the time. If you're not in a mmj state, then you have no choice except the black market.
A chiropractor may do you some good. The docs will treat the symptoms and if that doesn't work you'll be cut on ,at great expense,I might add. I broke a disc in my spine and HAD to have it operated on,but still experienced pain until I saw a GOOD chiro. I know now that had I seen a chiro before it broke--it wouldn't done so. Just like anything ,some are better than others. You''ll need Xrays for sure to determine what exactly is going on. Good luck. I still see one when pain returns to a certain level.
For pain i find eating infusions provides the best relief as opposed to smoking. Of course, mileage may vary.
It'll be a hastle - but see a doc - he'll probably do x-rays and mri's but in the long run it'll be cheaper and safer that buying your drugs on the street.
Wow im sorry about ur back. Thats miserable I have a back condition, i had an MRI and i get treated w pain medicine. Tried physical therapy, massage, chiropractor. I have tried smoking medical MJ when i dont have meds. And i get indica which my guy told me was more of a BODY HIGH as opposed to hybrid or sativa which i didnt like cuz it made me paranoid and messed w my head (im not well versed in weed so sorry if i got it mixed up - and im one of the most UNCOOL stoners ever, and Indica doesnt make me weird out at alllll). But it helped me a little. I wear contacts so smoking it dried my eyes out alot so he brought me suckers, and those r great!! Everyone is different though, and for me, i find that the pain meds help me more than the MJ - If i were u i would DEFINITELY see a Dr. first tho. Im not sure where u live or if u have health insurance or not. I dont have health insurance now, but my dr charges me $80 per visit, and my MRI was $800 CASH PRICE. At the time of the MRI i did have insurance but they were going to charge me $2000 and insurance $7000, so i opted for cash price. So if its too much for u, ask for the cash price. Also, if u dnt have insurance, and dont want to see ur doctor every month for refills, u can ask if he/she can give u refills so u only have to go in every 3 months. I knkw that helped me alot. 4 years is way too long to have such intense pain. I knew something was wrong after about 6-8 months of it being consistant. I tried deep tissue massage at first but it was only temporary relief at first then no relief... so i opted to see dr. Take care of yourself darlin.. get this checked out. It could be many different things and its good to know whats going on w ur body. Plus even if u dont have insurance the meds shoukd be cheaper at pharmacy. Although, heres a tip... i get my stuff at Costco or Sams Club and its literally only about $30 for my month supply of pain meds (120 - 10/325 norcos), at a regular pharmacy it ranges between $90-$180... so shop around. I dunno if Costco and Sams Club are out of California, but theyre like a member club warehouse deal... BUT u do NOT have to be a member to use their pharmacy!! U just tell them up front where ur going and they let u in no probs I hope u get some answers soon. Feel better love Hugs to u!! ps....my doctor gave me meds for my pain before i had the MRI. So depending on the Dr u may not have to get xrays or mri, BUT if it were me, id definitely want to know what was wrong w my back.
If I were you, I would make a cost-benefit analysis chart (seriously!), and put in each column, the appropriate items. For example, what "costs" would there be to starting opioid therapy: the financial cost even with insurance is high, lots of doctor visits, getting used to being high all of the time (yes, it really does take getting used to IMO!), and also the risk of severe dependence. Benefits include: relief of pain for once, feeling of legal security (you are not breaking laws to alleviate your pain), mood lift (obviously). Since you say you have been dabbling in opioids for some time now, look closely at your behavior and "red-flag" anything that seems dependence-forming or habit-forming. Then make your decision. And, only go to the doctor when you WON'T fail the drug test. Even though you aren't abusing the drugs, it is still illegal, and they won't want to take you as a patient due to liability issues, even if they know you aren't a junkie.
pixie... i can't believe your on those crappy norcos... I heard you can get those online without a frickin script. you need to see a diff. doctor and explain that your pain is worsening and your tolerance rose with the norcos... and if I up the dosage the tylenol will harm my liver. So they will most likely bump you up.
