You can just google sensory deprivation tank or isolation tank and then your city or a city near you and you should be able to find it. On that note, here's the video that turned me on to it. Joe Rogan is the man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeqmKwsvM58"]YouTube - The Sensory Deprivation Tank - Joe Rogan
Couldn't you emulate the experience with a bathtub and sheet, and a set of earplugs? Sounds cool though. I think I'll try it.
Hahaha well your bath doesnt have 1000 pounds of salt in it, its much smaller, and its not heated to your exact body temperature so... no haha
did you mean to say that it's heated to the temp of your skin? b/c body temp is 98.6 F, not 80 whatever you said
What if you fill up the bathtub with 98 degree water (300 pounds or so if it's a 40 gallon tub), get a snorkel, and sit in the dark?
Thanks for the post. Never thought about it before, and I do have some reservations because I´m kind of claustrophobic. But after reading your post I think I need to defiantly try this. How much does it normally cost?
hahaha, sure man, sure. For me it was like 60 bucks plus tax. I don't know how much it would be on Mars though but I hear some places in the US are charging closer to 45$ or so...
I'm gonna have to go with temperature of my skin, I didn't measure the temperature. Probably temperature of your skin because the idea is not to feel it.
waiting for the place i called to give me a ring back.. pretty neat deal. $50 for the first hour, then i can get an additional hour free.. only problem is that it's about 50 miles away from where i live. i'll probably end up going some time next week.
amazing stuff. I think it could help me to deal with my claustrophobia. I will certainly try it. is it possible to do it with someone together? or you must be alone there? I think it would be a great experience to share it with someone, but sure it's different than when you are all alone in there. nice. thanks for sharing
well, I know of one place around here that allows you yo go with someone, but personally I'd rather go alone. Also, I don't know how helpful it could be with claustrophobia because it doesn't really feel confined at all.
