He never finished serving his time in the military even though he's been out for 10 years. He has no exemption. And now the military is making calls for duty for veterans. I don't want my daddy to die for the oil industry.
I'm really sorry...if you ever need to talk or anything, or just vent...heres my SN: AnglHipster Peace and Love, Dan
Don't worry, if he has been out for 10 years the chance of him going back against his will is slim to none. If you would like to keep him at home for sure just start feeding him everything under the sun, the military doesn't like fat people. Poptarts wirh gravy will help to fatten him up.
How does your father feel about this? Does he support the war? I certainly hope that he doesn't have to leave. Girls need their fathers to be home with them.
I have looked at this thread for a bit and it cuts through my heart. I wish I had the power to stand up and shake the very earth, the trees, the rivers, the moon, and the sun and bring down storms from the heavens so that we could stop all this insanity. No father should have to leave his little girl for the weakness of others. I don't know you or your dad but I can honestly say I love you both. Perhaps there are times when it's ok to be angry and frustrated. Tell more about this. Tell them they're taking your dad away and that there's alot of people who have you both in their prayers that don't want him to go either. I think I can safely say that we'll do anything we can to help you.
Thank you. I'll make sure to add you. You really think so? God, I hope so. He's kind of fat already, but I mean, they took him that way when he was 18. Poptarts with gravy... He doesn't NOT support the war, but it's kind of like he knows we could be doing better things with our country's time. He's a very proud person, so I'm not sure if he'd turn down a call for duty anyways. You just put my thoughts into words. Thank you for the support. I think I will! Yeah, the army would sure straighten them up! Well, thank you all for the support. It really means a lot to me, I mean it REALLY means a lot. Thank you for the prayers, the words of advice, and the words of comfort. I'll make sure to keep ya'll posted on what's going on.
Sorry to hear about your dad. My son is leaving in Feb. (unfortunatly)for Iraq. Here is his military pic taken last Spring.(obviously I added the border)..it's also in my gallery.
I could understand if America's very existence was at stake and the threat was immediate. What great threat is America urgently facing that we must call up the last of our reserves? Is protecting oil pipelines in another country that we don't even own (yeah right) THAT important? And what happens if America really comes under threat from another source once all our available troops are committed to Iraq and Afghanistan and protecting that oil?
I have no idea why the people who support Bush can't see that what Bush says and what they support has no logic within it at all. Makes no sense to me. I'm so sorry for your family, Krystin. I hope everything works out well for you all.
I'm so sorry. I'll be sure to keep him and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I know what you mean. It just doesn't connect, all this war mongering. And thank you, George.
