So we all know that tomorrow is the anniversary of the early departure of our beloved John... what will be on your mind tomorrow? How do you remember him? Personally I like to spend the day listening to his music... maybe watching Imagine! John Lennon ... the videos are intense. But I'll be thinking the whole time about how sad it is - what a waste of a gifted, multi-faceted artist.
Actually, I probably won't do anything in his honor. I like his music, but after all, he was merely a man... I don't feel the need to worship him or anything. *Shrugs* EDIT: Oh yeah, and my favorite Lennon song is "Dear Prudence."
ditto lucifer, and I hear he was kind of an asshole in person, though i like much of his music. Maybe he felt like Bob Dylan does and told 60 minutes last weekend, he never wanted to be a spokesman for his generation, and doesn't want to be deified...he actually intentionally did things to ruin his reputation. are we talking only solo lennon here...I kind of like woman even though its sappy
well, I love him.. much.. very much... and incredibly much I wish he lived today.. I wish I could see how the world, american goverment and so would look like, if that man would be here.. I mean physically.. cause I believe, his SPIRIT is with us on.. and to the poll.. I voted for "the other" - GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
Just to let you all know, I am the reincarnated soul of John Lennon, and I approve of this message. Now, there are just too many great songs to pick one. but of the solo stuff, I like: -Isolation -Look at Me -Jealous Guy -How do you Sleep -Crippled Inside -All I Want is the Truth -Watchin the Wheels
Remembering John isn't like worshipping him... it's not like a ritual or something. But he was a great musician, and a talented artist, and he died, tragically. It's not something people should just shrug about and move on from.
His death isn't more important than other peoples though. I admit it was tragic....maybe I'm just preoccupied because they found the skeleton of my sisters friend who had been missing for 6 years the other day.
Well, Hell, I'd feel like a hypocrite if I didn't do anything in rememberance for Pearl Harbor today, but I did something for just one man tomorrow... Wow...
I voted other- Working Class Hero Yeah, he shouldn't be remembered anymore than any other human, but, just remember his music, and, most of all, his message.
I put down "imagine", but looking back at all of his music, solo and with the beatles, he made so many great songs, its incredable how good he was. Im not going to do anything to big, im just gonna listen to his music all day.
