Sony has lashed out at Anonymous, claiming that their DDOS attack on their servers somehow allowed another attack against them to gather info on millions of users. Anonymous attacked Sony two weeks ago in retaliation for Sony taking legal action against some hackers who released info about Sony products. Sony is thinking that the hackers and Anonymous may have worked together. Sony has always preferred to keep their technology proprietary (like Apple does), while hackers like to break the locks on such software so people can get around the limitations imposed by these companies. this whole thing is just so sad! it is NOT at all sad that, sony got a shoe stuck up their ass. i have no compassion whatsoever, for these fascistic super-monster corporations. :smash: what is sad about this whole thing is, how the mainstream media did not even bother to report it! if it had not been for the npr (national public radio) program, "on the media," breaking this story a couple of weeks back the mainstream media would probably never have touch it. all i can say is... YOU GO ANONYMOUS AND NPR! :2thumbsup:
Dumb question because I don't keep up with the times: Where is Anonymous located? Ever since the PSN got hacked, I had to change my e-mail password because it was hacked by someone in China.
Pinning a crime on "Anonymous" doesn't make much sense when it's just a hive-mind of individuals with no leaders.
not sure why this excites anyone... it's just a gaming company... (my comp broke down and i typed this on my psp so yay for sony)
It's a gaming company with a very expensive console that is very heavy on online gaming, the hacked leaked people's private information like credit card information, and they are blaming a vigilante group (that has done good and bad but fights corporations often) for the fun of it.
Jeez, the Playstation Network is still down. My brother plays a lot of Playstation. Luckily, with his email address, he didn't use any type of credit card information for purchases... and hasn't made any purchases to begin with. This is why we don't enter credit card info on unsecure serverrrrs. The way I see it, Playstation has a lot more hard drive space to begins with, making it much more accesible for people to buy games on demand with the use of a credit card. I, on the other hand, am an avid Xbox gamer. My hard drive is so small I can barely fit free demos on it. (That's what she said) But, I know better than to put my credit card info thru the Xbox or Playstation servers. I have the feeling Xbox is more secure and stable, but if I want a game or Microsoft Points, I just go to Gamestop or Walmart, enter a code, and I'm good to go. Just goes to show... Get your Playstation cash at the store, not at home sitting on your PATOOTI typing credit card info with an on-screen keyboard through unsecure gaming servers. Duh! Winning!!
