1st post Hello gentlemen and ladies. After graduating college last year in Mid-Michigan I moved up into the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwestern Virginia, right next to the B.R. Parkway and Appalachian Trail. It does wonders for mind to be in place so beautiful. However, don’t let my love for these mountains fool you. My talents are very computer based and I spend a lot of time indoors working on one project or another. The great indoors has kept me from meeting too many hip people in the area, but I’m sure that’ll change eventually. I’m not going to get off on the wrong foot by pimping my youtube channel or anything, but I do animations and short films. So if you’re interested let me know. My facebook is listed as my webpage in my profile here on Hip, so check it out and send a friend request if you give a shit about that. I’m sure as I get acquainted with some of you that you’ll eventually figure out how fucking insane I am one way or another. Also, I’m obsessed with Doctor Doom and my arch nemesis is the Fantastic Four. Anyway, Hello and Cheers!
A true believer?! I need another comic nerd on this site, that would be so lovely. I've never been too into the Fantastic Four (or Marvel) but Jonathan Hickman is doing some lovely things and I can't wait to read the next FF on Wednesday!
Yeah. I read comics when I get the opportunity. I don't buy too many of them anymore and most of my collection is from when I was a bit more immature. Still love anything featuring Doctor Doom (esp the Fantastic Four), loved the old Mark Waid days of The Flash, and Garth Ennis on The Punisher. I'll also buy anything by Jhonen Vasquez (Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Squee, Invader Zim) I've only read the first issue of the Future Foundation so far. What are you reading?
I read all of the Batman family comics, but I'm working on a fan game so I sort'f need to. War of the Green Lanterns but wouldn't recommend it Can't wait for Flashpoint. The Future Foundation, because Three and the issues leading up to it were so amazing. And other than that I've been catching up on the Neil Gaiman work I missed out on and the Swamp Thing. I read comics all the time; picked up some Batman and 100 Bullets at the library a few years ago and haven't stopped to breathe since. Doctor Doom is actually my favorite Marvel villain, even though I've barely seen him in comics.
I've always meant to read Swamp Thing. I've heard its pretty twisted. The movies and TV show were WEIRD.
I couldn't sit through the movie, so I had to read the comic =P I skipped straight to Alan Moore's run and I would definitely recommend it, though it wouldn't be at the top of my list. It gives an amazing sense of atmosphere.
