Before starting, I had a previous profile under the name nan, but i couldn't find my password, especially because I could not find out which email adress I used to log in.

I'm a searcher for new utopias, meaning I am here because I think that's what hips are.

I am quite a regular guy. I live in a small town -less than 50000- and I have a vehicle with which a go around my town visiting grocery stores selling cleaning products, mostly, and some other stuff people require -some third needs stuff that give me more revenue than the cleaning stuff but are less required, so less purchased-.

I have a background in visual arts, but somewhen I changed my mind and started looking for a way in sound, and nowadays I am a musician as a hobby. Well, that's not true, I mean, I am nowadays just a programmer because I am programming, in a graphic programming language called puredata (puredata.info) a live music tool that's not ready yet. Before this I made some sounds in comercial tools such as reason or live, but I'm in another mood now.

I -almost constantly- look for ways to get passive income, but haven't done-found anything good yet.

I dream of travelling and getting a location independent lifestile making music, but I recognize it as a dream and each year that pass by I think more and more of it as a dream. Anyway, I enjoy dreaming of it.

    Well, meybe this is enough.
    Have a good life!

you are certainly right. In my utopia everyone should be able to travel the world.
Top ten hits... well now, if something is liked by the amount of people necesary to hit a top ten, then it would be probably a kind of stupid music, if we think about what democracy has in common with a top ten system. I do not intend to be rude. Just that I am not very found of pop, and in experimental environments it seams to be easyer -and more appropiate- dreaming of making at least a humble life playing your music in certain particular venues related to what you do, and probably -in my case- comercial electronic music festivals around the world -in what they call "chill out lounges"-.
Don't get me wrong, please: If for an azarous coincidence I hit the top of a chart I will enjoy it a lot: it will mean a lot of live shows possibilities and consecuently a related amount of money, so I would be probably free to keep doing music without having to work as a salesman for a while. I just think that having the chart in mind as a goal would be the wrong walk for me.
Thankyou for your reply (and till tonight! -I have to work-)

Hola, well, life here is quite calm. At least in my town. There is little or none cultural activities, most of the year. Salary for avereage works are quite low so personal economic growth gets difficult in this kind of towns, but living in the capital city means a more expensive and stressfull life, like in any country. The avereage people earning more than 1000 u$s a month is quite little, and this is a spensive country, maybe for that reason.
Temperature rises to 40ºC on summer and go to 0ºC in winter (some days lower, but it never snows).
Economy goes around cattle, grains, and nowadays forests, cellulose factorys and some mining (in some years we might produce iron)
We have a left wing president, former terrorist, and before him we had another left wing president, an oncologist. This two governments have been quite polemic, mostly because right wing partys are allways complaining, but the fact is that there is more work, education seems to be better, there is less poverty and I've read of new programs aimed to reach those who had to choose work and didn't continue school. Public squares have wifi, a very slow one but at least... The "ceibal plan" has been running for almost two years now (negroponte's olpc, one little portable computer given to each boy in primary school, and now to first high school grades).
Crime is rising (some blame the government, some the poverty left by the previous corrupt governments, some just realizes that crime has grown in our neighbour countrys as well and it may be a more complex problem) and the discussion between rights and lefts are related to lower or not the age in which someone can go to jail.
A multi-partidary group of politicians is discussing this months the legalization of growing cannabis for personal consume, and consume itself has been legal since I remember (although sometimes it has been publicly represed: it is legal to consume, but not buying, so if you consume they might take you in to see where you get what you have).
This is a small country, so we don't have extremely long distances to cover, and our national parks are really small, compared with what you have. We have some nature reservations on the shore (atlantic ocean) and tourism is one of our good income generator.
We are a europe-like population/society, with almost none aboriginals, due to genocidal wars in the ninetenth century we are not proud of. Generally speaking we are not racists and have little to none prejudice against alternative religions or sexual orientations but in less educated environments you can find some cromagnon, as always. Our population is mainly baptised christians, mostly agnostic anyway, and a lots of atheists.
Vote is obligatory, so political conciousness is, despite propaganda, something common.
    Now, how is life there?

Hi barney, welcome, from a newbie to another. The littlest piece of advice I can give you: go to the top of this page and click in "introduce yourself". then go and click in "new thread" and post something about you. You will have more chance for people to see you are here and it will be easy to start a conversation.
Welcome, again, and have a good life!

  9. Bienvenido! Enjoy forums! You still didn't say which country you come from! ;)

uh.. I thought I did, sorry. "this was deleted in the second edit opportunity" it is. Thank you for your welcome! I am certainly enjoying the forums, on my free time (I wish I had more of it). I read your post about facebook. I have an account there and I use it as a search engine. When I started the account I fastly got to 1000 contacts, accepting everyone and contacting any interesting profile related to what I do or what I like. Big mistake. In two or three months it turned to a spam machine and it was very difficult to get rid of through it's own privacy settings plus gmail's spam filters, so I had to "kill the duck". Nowadays I have just a hundred contacts (nobody talks to me: they might think I am antisocial, crazy, or just a bad person), I do not post content and only use it to see my family and friends around the world's photos, or as a search engine, as I told you. This last thing is interesting and very useful, and probably hardly replaceable. People had grown big communities in there under any particular subjects. Did you know "goa hippy tribe", Eight fingers Eddie and all their stories? old hippies from Arambol, Goa, India that gathered themselves again in facebook after one of their child's documentary project (still running, promising interviews for the next month).
Well, thanks again, and warmness in the distance.

    added lately:

By the way, I get quite paranoid when people insist to know where I am from, so this post is not going to last for long. I believe the net is dangerous, really. And privacy should be cared. When you publish your procedence, giving data for anybody to search directly for you, then It starts to get dangerous to speak freely and share your personal beliefs and knowledge, if those beliefs and knowledges are related to how the power that keeps us from been free works, and consecuently, how you can do to avoid it.
I am preety sure that financial wolrd is quite happy with hippys, when hippys talk about art, new era and happiness. I don't believe the same thing happens when you are and act against slavery of work, eventhough you are a worker yourself.

This doesn't mean that the only subjet I will be posting about will be "dangerous revolutionary stuff". In fact I might never do it, but if I do feel that there is something polemic that I should say, I would prefer to remain anonim

I posted the info you asked so you can know that I exist, and because I know that this forums have some paranoia too (yes, I read the introductory texts to this "tell us about yourself" thread). But, again, tonight when I get back from work I'll erase all info related to my location.
    Thankyou for your understanding.

By the way, does anyone know how could I get my old account? I used to have only "nan" as user name (acronim for not a number) and now I see those asterix and feel uncomfortable about them...
