I've never taken LSD before, but would really like to. Through my research of it I've found out that using acid could exacerbate preexisting mental conditions. I have depersonalization disorder and am not sure if it would be safe for me to try acid.

I'm completely unqualified to answer, I'm not even aware of that disorder, but I would ask you to please please do as much research as you can. I'm assuming you are since you asked here but keep it up. L can change your life in amazing ways but it's not a toy.
    Good vibes to you.

Medically, your condition and psychedelics are contraindicated...there are worse disorders to have, and there are stronger varieties of the condition you already have; psychedelics for you are riskier than for unafflicted persons. The doctor says "no LSD...."

Honest answer is that this drug, even more than others, could very likely exacerbate this condition on some level. However, I suffer from things of this nature and I'm sure that both LSD and MDMA experiences, (the ones somewhere comfortable and safe), have been therapeutic for me in the short term.

I would leave psychedelics alone. It's not worth any risk that there may be. It is unfortunate but you only have one body and one brain. It's not worth making the rest of your life more miserable for a few hours of psychedelia.
