What is OPANA (Oxymorphone) Like? we dont have it over here..turns out my Opiate Nurse told me after I asked about it, that PALLADONE (Hydromorphone) IS available over here but is even rarer than getting an Oxy script. Im told OPANA has a weak BioAvailablity and works better insufflated? same goes for Dilaudid..but its sposed to be IV HEAVEN! Ive never nor will I bang any drug..even when I was on H it was only snorted.

OPANA's Im told 2/3 times stronger than Oxycodone..I doubt I'll ever try it but for those pain patients that side of the pond does it work well for pain?

 

Opana is the namebrand for Oxymorphone, oxymorphone is what your liver breaks oxycodone into, my dr has told me that it is twice as strong as oxycodone, as i went from Oxycontin 30mg to the Opana 20mgs twice a day. The Opana works for the pain, and if your not a experienced opiate user it could be dangerous, it does give you that "nod" if you know about that but doesnt produce the euphoria that the original oxycontins did, at least for me.....

Opana comes in extended release amounts of i believe 5, 7.5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 mgs, I believe it only comes in 5 mg and 10 mg Instant Release. I do not inject any drugs either, but the BioAvailablity is much greater insufflated than it is oral, i have read that it works so much more effective that they are considering making a nasal spray for it. That im sure is a long time in the making. I do consider it a waste to take them orally and 99% of the time i will snort them, unless i am not able to. I will also mix in a 15 mg Roxi with it, even though that isnt the best way to take the oxy. I still enjoy blowing one or two here and ther. Some will claim that taking the Opana will increase your tolerance, this may be true, but from a withdraw standpoint, when i am running low on meds which usually happens 2-3 days before my next appointment, i can manage to get through the day on as little as 45-60 mgs of oxy (3-4 pills for me) and if i have been that way for a few days I can get it down to 30-45 mgs to keep the diarrhea at bay. As for "banging" i have read that only the IR's are able to be IV'd, but some say with some time and patience that the ER's can be injected. I do know that right off the bat the gel up like crazy, even if you keep it in your mouth to long you can feel it getting gooie, lol (SP?).

As far as Chronic Pain..... each person is different, having Nerve damage is fairly serious, not to mention the tendon that tore the chunk of bone off was never operated on...so working construction=being on my feet all day, and being a big guy, 320, which is 30 pounds lighter before surgery ( im trying to do anything that will take the pain out of this foot/ankle, and i know weight is a big issue). I will tell you all like i tell the doctor, every step you take, to the bathroom, to the mailbox, to walk the dog, stuck in traffic, gas, brake, gas, brake, cutting the grass, with every movement of my foot there is pain, and thats not counting the days when i cant even turn my back enough to wipe my ass, so although some of you may have me beat on the number of surgeries, i can still understand what it is to be in chronic pain. As far as RSD which is the name for the nerve damage, there isnt really anything to do for it, other than meds, and stretches to make sure it stays flexible,and loose.

 

opana, by weight, is 10-14 times stronger than oxycodone. However, it is not as well absorbed in any method except IV. This is primarily because of the pill's other ingredients and design. opiophile (if I remember) has good methods of prepping opanas, and you should plug or shoot them if you are going to do them. And everybody (well, almost everybody) says they won't shoot, but they eventually will.

 

Snorting opana is EXCELLENT I get 120 40 ERs and 120 10mg IRs / month.

thanks guys. Being English i'll maybe never experience this drug.. I'd like to try it..Fentanyl was the biggest daddy i tackled for about 18 months..we MAY have Dilaudid over here but its likely I wont get to try it unless my SIXTH op is a total fuck up as the last five have been. Im told the B/A of it makes it not that 'euphoric' not that I seek euphoria from pain meds..but its nice to have your mind totally off your condition.
