Walking

My ex-boyfriend just announced that next week, he is leaving on foot to travel from Denton, TX, all the way up here. No hitchhiking, no rides, no bikes, just feet. To give you a good idea of the distance, it takes us about 6 and a half hours to drive to Denton in a car. As far as milage goes, you got me, I have no idea exactly how far it is. So, I'd like to know what you think. He estimates it will take him roundabout 25 days total. I think it will take more than that. He's in pretty good shape and I'm sure physically he can survive, that's how he's always gotten around the various places he's lived in (he used to walk to my house every weekend, about 4-5 miles roundtrip). I still think he's crazy but am really stoked for when he finally gets here. If he gets here before my birthday, I will be beside myself with joy.

is this 6-6 1/2 hrs highway driving?

if he gets up and around 20 miles a day i'd say he would get there

Something like that would be fun to do. Maybe I'll walk to Ohio or Pittsburgh or the beach someday...

Because he's crazy. He also has a lot of friends here and his family lives up here, too. It's not like he's coming specifically to visit me or anything, lol.

 

if he's actually trying to make time, he should be able to do it in less than 25 days. although if i were doing something like that i would have to stop and do lots of sightseeing so that would lenghten the trip.

why doesnt he just take the bus?

 

I dont see why he would walk or run for that many days straight, you have to sleep and eat somewhere. that would be quite a bit of money.

Ugh, I love walking, but not to anywhere. I would not be able to stand walking along a road, although if in the right state of mind I could walk for hours upon hours through the forest

 

if he walks 12 hours a day it will take him about 10 days.

Its funny to me that the majority of responses on here seem to be of the concensus that your boyfriend is crazy/and or doing something nearly impossible. Uh, most of the world was explored before the invention of the automobile, people that replied to this thread 4 years ago....

I don't remember if he did it or not.... I had a wicked bad tooth infection and ended up having it pulled day after I turned 21, so that's really all I remember from that point in time. I'm sure he's done something of the sort since then, that was a little over 3 years ago and he's been a hobo pretty much ever since. I stopped talking to him recently and cut all ties I had to him except for his sister because he's turned into a pretentious hippie douche and I can't stand to talk to him.
