A recent post in the Where Did You Go Barefoot thread mentioned that a store made a person's feet really dirty. I've noticed many variations on this theme throughout the barefoot section. Do you purposely check your feet to see if they are getting dirty? Just curious.

Nah, I never check, cuz if they're dirty there's nothing I can do about it anyways, I'll just wash 'em when I get home :)

I check often, more out of curiosity than anything else.

my feet are perpetually orange because of all the red clay around here.

once i had a girlfriend who ran a pub. its red clay florence cotto floors always dyed my soles with a cherry red/orange shade, i suspect it was floor wax though to deserve the blame.

I had a couple of ex-girlfriends who were also habitual barefooters. I met both while on the street in Greenwich Village (NYC). This was a long time ago. With one especially she like comparing color at the end of the day. Most times you couldn't tell which of us had the filthier feet:)

I'm more likely to check mine after I see another barefooter, which is not very often these days:banghead:

It's like the guy with a big 4 wheel drive that likes mud splattered all over it.
It is the proof that you are an active participant.

Interesting thread. I work in an office, but have been a barefoot girl my whole life. Let's see, I sleep barefoot, drive to work barefoot, slip on my shoes to go into my office, kick them off under my desk, slip them on to go back to my car, kick them off to drive to get my daughter, put them on to run in to get her, drive home barefoot, and keep my shoes off till the next morning. On weekends I'm barefoot most all day.

I guess it stands to reason my feet would be dirty. :)

No. The point of barefooting, to me, is to be free and natural and to experience one of the four points of nature- earth. Getting them dirty is just a side effect of enjoying how wonderful it feels to be barefoot, however it's not something that I particularily enjoy, but not something that I don't enjoy. So no, I don't check my feet, and I wash them at night after I've barefooted so that I don't dirty my house or my sheets or furniture.

Since the poll is about checking the color of my bare soles often, I had to pick "no" for an answer. I do, however, take a quick peek at my soles occasionally after urban barefooting, to compare the color of city soles to the earth-colored soles after barefooting on natural surfaces.

    Wiggling bare toes,

I think I look healthier when I have some dirt on me. I like to get dirt all over my feet....and mud between my toes. I wipe the mud off when I get in the car though...and wash my feet with water before I go in the house.

I Never Check Them......I Just Enjoy My Barefoot Life...:)

    Cheers Glen.

  18. I don't check, probably scared to after walking right through town. Fuck knows what I could be harbouring there! I don't really care how dirty my feet are except when they won't even clean with the scrubbing brush in the bath.

This is all very interesting. I'd just like to explain that my original question got truncated by (I guess) space limitations. So the actual poll question wasn't exactly what I wanted. The thread comment was closer. But thanks,I am def finding the comments interesting and hope others are too.
