just a tidbit of info.....i have paid for my scripts before, and yes there will be a jump in price for any heavy med, long acting like oxycontin or opana.......but if u get bumped to percs, ask for them without the apap in them the price is almost half as much without the apap in them, then buy a bottle of apap, much much cheaper.....im actually going through this right now, my 10mg percs are like 65 bucks for 60, and with out the apap just oxy, its like 38 for the same amount of oxycodone........then buy a bottle of 5 dollar apap, and ur golden!!!! GOODLUCK, i have a appt today as well, been limping along for a few days cant wait!!!!!!!!!!! we having a OPPIE party tonight!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL PC, Im all for an OPIE Party. Ill bet Pixies appt will take some time. Pain Drs offices are usually way over booked. Ive spent as long as 6-7 hrs in his damn office B4. Plus its her 1st visit with this Dr. But seriously, who the fucks gonna complain, LOL. If you do, you go home empty handed, nice way to start withdrawals.

    Welp - he gave me my normal Norco 10/325 and 120 a month - also 90 2mg xanax -

Since I am a new patient, he didn't wanna switch me off of what my body is already use to - and I"m FINE with that. I am thankful I got something yanno?

BUT he said, he wants to switch me to Extended Release Meds soon!!! YAY!!

He also gave me Prescription Lidocaine patches for my back, awesome!! He gave me samples too! :)

He also wants me on 5000mg of Vitamin D every day (costco has 300 pills for 12.99 so almost a years worth) and he said that helps with chronic pain and other stuff.

He said that it will help a little, but I'm just glad he's trying to do something other than pump me full of pills and that's it!

He is an awesome awesome doctor!

My triglicerides are high, so he said to take about 4000mg of Fish Oil a day and that'll cut my triglicerides in half.

He said once I get insurance he wants me to see an Ortho too :)

I'm very happy with the outcome! I had to sign a pain management contract too. Which I'm fine with. I plan on sticking with him :)

Thank you everyone - I appreciate all the advice and help!

I'm gonna take a Norco and put this patch on, and gel out and let the pain fade away! I've been out for a month now - I need some relief!

Woot to the woot woot! :)

He's not a pain management Dr but signed on as my pain management dr.

I found him on Dr Ratings on the internet, and he lives up to all the hype. He's RAD! Yes I said RAD, I'm from California, I'm allowed to, lmao! ;) You guys ROCK!

She said "what's your new doctors name"

    I said "Dr C"

    She said "Ok thanks"

And I said "UM, DON'T YOU WANT MY NAME?????"

And she said "oh yea, ok"

    Pixie,
Glad it turned out well for you. Having to take same thing to start off isnt all that bad. At least he knows that its not working like it used to and he will soon switch you over to something that will help you better in the future. Did he give you a urine test? How often are you able to visit him (monthly, every two months....etc)?
I too take fish oil for TRIs, it helped alot, mine are now down below 200 but I continue to take them (1000MGs/day) to keep it that way.

All in All, YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you guys -

And yes, he wants me to see him every month for a while so get everything under control - I didn't have to do a urine test - but I need labs done soon for my thyroid and to check my arthritis levels, etc.

I just took a Norco and whoa, I'm looped. Sheesh it's been a month and I'm looped!

He also gave me Lidocaine patches for my back - I put one on but it didn't do much? And I prices them at Costco and they're like $243 for 30 of them! He gave me 5 samples, but honestly I have had it on for 2 hours now and no pain relief.

Also, I need bloodwork done and that means I have to stop using pot to clear my system out. I don't want him seeing that in my blood. I was using it because I didn't have meds. I had the edible suckers. How long will it take to get out of my blood?

    Anyhow, thank you guys!

Well I'm thinking that unless he's searching your blood for pot, hes not gonna see anything concerning that. Urine however is a diff story and pot probably wont be there longer than 4-10 days depending on use. Doesnt sound like you did much so unless the test is this week I wouldnt worry bout it too much. Go easy on those Norco's Ur tolerance went down some after a month, but if you want to continue feeling the norcos for the time being, only take what you need (dont go back to the level u left off at) so as not to raise ur tolerance too quickly, if you do that, they will continue to feel good, ENJOY DARLIN!!

Yes, my tolerence is really low now. I was nauseas all day yesterday, but today, I took two, and my pain is pretty much non existant! YAY!

I feel a buzz too, not overwhelming, but it's there :)

But best of all, no pain. And that just ROCKS!

Thank you guys so so much for everything!

I think the coolest thing was calling that jerk doctor and FIRING HIS A$$! hahahaaa!

    Hugs to you all!

glad to hear you got a good doctor. if hes bumping you up to something stronger its probably gonna be oxycodone, oxymorphone, or morphine sulfate. maybe hydromorphone but i dont think that one is generally preferred by doctors or patients

i read the first page...and i can tell you, since i have had sciatica bad 2x (and have a residual level that never goes away)...no drug helped my pain. i had 2 steroid injections in the spine; one helped, the other one did not. both of them had their downside (steroids have a bad downside).

the second time i had sciatica, i was considering, after 3 months sleeping on the floor, crawling to the bathroom, and walking my hands up the toilet and the wall to piss each morning, i began to consider sticking my head in the oven. when that thought became 'conscious', i realized i had to do something, because 'it was becoming a real alternative to a life of pain'. i tried acupuncture, stretching, chiropractic...everything i could think of.

i finally got hold of larry payne's book 'Yoga Rx'. if i do his recommended back exercises regularly for a month, my pain will subside to a 3 or 4. if i don't do any yoga at all...i get back to a 9+. i consider '10' to be where one seriously considers putting their head in the oven, not just 'thinking on it'.

best i got to give you. good luck.
