Need Music College Info in the West/NorthWest

Hello, im going to graduate from high school this year, but i havent decided what school to go to, or even concider one.

I know what i want to do with my life, become a professional musician, but i dont know which college would suit me best. Im not sure in what field of music, im concidering preforming arts, composing, or really anything to deal with music.

Any Suggestions anyone?

 

if you're not too sure man, go the route i did, go music business... in our program, we're able to do as much performance as a performance major would, while taking business classes to learn the money making asepct. it doesn't take anything away from performance because think about it... in the real world, if you're going for a performing gig, they're not going to look for a degree, only for ability.

as far as schools go, i dunno many out there, but i'm sure california has some great music schools, being one of the most liberal states in the country.

 

UC Santa Cruz has an AMAZING music program, not to mention that santa cruz is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

You can major in music with a focus on either performance or bussiness and the technical aspect.

If I wasn't burnt out on college I would go there in a heartbeat, I recomend it to anyone at all.

 

the school I go to, U. North Texas, has an excellent music school. The jazz program is one of the best in the country. But its not really that far west, and ain't any north.
