I have a few bowls that need to be scrapped.. so was just wondering what the way to do that was.. Thanks for the help
A little science lesson for you. Firstly, that black gunk that's left in your bowl over time after smoking is NOT actual resin and only contains about 1-2% THC. It is called residue-resin. Next, actual resin are the trichrome crystals that hang off the buds that are produced from the plants resin glands. Taken from Wikipedia: Residue (resin) Residue collected from a pipe Because of THC's adhesive properties, a sticky residue, most commonly known as "resin", builds up inside utensils used to smoke cannabis. It has tar-like properties but still contains THC as well as other cannabinoids. This buildup has some of the psychoactive properties of cannabis but is more difficult to smoke without discomfort caused to the throat and lungs. This tar may also contain CBN, which is a breakdown product of THC. Cannabis users typically only smoke residue when cannabis is unavailable. Glass pipes may be water-steamed at a low temperature prior to scraping in order to make the residue easier to remove.[51] Alcohol is an effective solvent for cleaning residue from paraphernalia.
Avoid smoking bowl scrapings. Or learn the hard way. It's your body, your life, take responsibility for what you put into it. It might get you slightly high, but it will also fuck up your lungs. Not worth it, no matter how badly you're jonesing. Like the previous poster said, most of the THC has already been vaporized and you'll be huffing the nasty shit that doesn't get you high, but hurts you. that's the whole point of using bongs or water pipes, to filter that shit out so you don't breathe it.
Here's what you do. STEP 1: Boil a pot of water. STEP 2: Get a pair of oven mitts STEP 3: Hold pipe over boiling water using oven mitts so you wont burn yourself until it is hot. STEP 4: Pour liquid resin (residue, whatever) through the carb into container (like a small plastic container) STEP 5: Repeat process until done
