Thought I'd post a poem I wrote. Looking for advice and constructive criticism. Thanks.

    NARRATIVE OF A DREAM

I open my eyes and see her. She stands alone in the corner of my room, a look of curiosity on her face.

    Beautiful.

    Ghost-like.

I approach her, my heart beating rapidly. The blood rushes through my head and everything becomes a blur.

    Slowmotion.

    White noise.

She stares at me, and I stare back. Her eyes are a stunning silver, like the full moon on the ocean.

    I move close.

    And then closer.

I reach out and pull her towards me. Her arms find rest around my neck. Slowly, we fall to the floor, lost within each other.

    It isn’t love.” she says.

    Only passion.

Her lips are soft and malleable. As we kiss, my heart catches fire, and the light of the flame casts shadows upon the walls.

    They dance.

    We dance.

Softly whispering, she tells me, “Look up.” She gently tilts my head up towards the sky.

    Momentos. Hers.

    Written upon the clouds.

They make promises of escape. A freedom I have long sought after. Knowledge never known.

    Show me.” I plead.

    Silence.

She looks deep into my olive green eyes, surveying my very soul. She takes me by the hand and leads me through a door. Our hearts lighting our path.

    A red sign.

    Exit.

The rain cascades down from the heavens. As it pours upon us, she lays on the ground. I lay next to her.

    Something,

    isn’t right.

A small yellow paper falls next to me. And then a dozen more. I look up and see that it is no longer rain falling from the clouds.

    Only Momentos.

    Hers.

She turns to me and smiles. Her heart begins to sputter, and fades into nothingness. Her thoughts litter the ground around me.

    Alone.

    Free.

    I close my eyes.
