grunge music is great. the music now is just the same thing reproduced. i think however if it didn't end then it would do the same thing as punk: only have a few REAL bands and the rest are just awful and have no passion.
"Grunge" is just a label that the popular media gave to a genre of music with heavy riffs and an aesthetic sense that was not overly concerned with image. I think that authentic, pre-Nirvana grunge is really underrated. I think Bands like The Fluid were awesome, but they were completely overshadowed by some of the later, more popular bands. I don't think that "grunge" can be brought back. But elements of "grunge" still survive in Stoner Rock and bands like Alta May can be considered the successors to the Seattle Grunge Scene.
i think 90% of grunge sucks nirvana, pearl jam and soundgarden basicy took it over. mudhoney & meat puppets kick ass also bikini kill but there more punk and very under rated
