I was recently doing some research online and came across some information on medical marijuana and Tourette Syndrome. Apparently there is a correlation between smoking pot and a reduction in tics. Has anyone else heard about this? I found it really interesting - and yet another potential medical use to add to the list!

    I've seen it first hand.

    Makes sense. Relax, tic less.

yeah thats what I thought...pot helps the anxiety which in turn means less tics

Can I ask what you mean by "first hand"? Does someone you know have it, or yourself?

A friend I met in Hawaii first told me about Tourettes. He worked for a large aircraft company as an artist and he said every once in a while this guy--another artist-- would holler--FUCK-SHIT-YOU DIRTY COCKSUCKER-and some other variations and then all would be quit again for a while, but would be repeated throughout the day. I didn't believe him--I thought he was bull shittin me,but since then ,I have seen some for myself. It's really an interesting affliction. There's a town ,I think in Canada? --full of folks with tourettes. Weed comes thru again,it sounds like.

Yeah, the swearing aspect of tourettes is called "coprolalia" and its actually not that common...of course, thats not how the media portrays it :p

A town in Canada full of people with tourettes?? Really lol 'cause I live in Canada and have never heard of such a place.

I don't have "tics" necessarily but I do have like gestures that I do repeatedly to release anxiety. I found when stoned it may relieve the anxiety that causes those gestures but usually the anxiety gets worse once the weed wears off.
