    Long post. Be warned.

Last night, I dreamed in two layers and the second layer was lucid, but only to the first. In the first layer, I thought I was out. But in the lucid second layer, I remember a character who had never been in a lucid before. Somehow, we were sharing, or maybe it was an astral I was unaware of and we just met. I dunno who this dude was, I've never seen him before.

Somehow, I knew the area we were in, though I don't know it now. It was a VERY elite academic place of some kind, with various other people roaming around perfectly aware of what the place was and simply going about their business. They were all sorts of creatures, human and other. I'm a scifi dork, so I didn't think much of it.

But the complex was designed in three dimensions: as this was a "dream space" everyone could fly. I taught the newbie how to fly, and showed him around the complex. Odd, as when I try to fly in a lucid I always have trouble. I didn't this time. It seems I've been to this place before, many times. It was perfectly peaceful, and just seemed "good."

I woke into the second layer, remember almost nothing other than I was waking up next to my husband as usual but in a different "home" than I remember.

Later on, after celebrating Beltane (if you get my meaning... HAPPY BELTANE!) we took a nap together for a couple of hours. I remember mentioning to him that all of my senses seemed sharper somehow after our antics. I was in bed for an hour and a half, in and out of dreamspace, but perfectly conscious of it. At one point, I was half-and-half: aware that I was still in bed, but aware that this bedroom was the one from last night's dream. I felt VERY disjointed, like my whole body had fallen almost numb. So I sat up, feeling the last sensations leave with my body, and wandered around. It was like walking underwater, very cool.

I woke after an hour, shocked back into my body after getting excited about the wanderings. I managed to doze back into the SAME dreamspace until the alarm, then drifted in and out with the snooze button. It was completely sweet, traveling between realms like that at will. Finally, as I had to stay awake long enough to get Hubby out of bed, I was too far awake to go back.

That was a trip, seriously. I've tried for years to astral, succeeding only four or five times. Finally, I stopped to dedicate my mind to academic matters. I don't know what triggered this. Thanks to finals and the ensuing stress, I've had bad insomnia and have been sleeping with non-prescription pain meds (all I had for it), but last night I had no chemicals in me. All I can think of is this: during our marital mischief, Hubby had me in a sleeper hold: cutting off the arteries to the brain, harmlessly knocking your opponent out. Hey, we all have our fetishes, and ours is combat sparring. :p I was almost out when he stopped. That was when the heightened senses started. I wonder if that experience tripped a wire in my head or something?

Whatever, it was awesome. Though now I'm still feeling dislocated, like I didn't make it all the way back into my body. This happened the first time I astralled, and it reset with my next sleep cycle, so I'm not worried. I'm having trouble concentrating on anything, though. It's like part of my mind isn't certain which realm was worth more attention. Odd.

I dont know much about dreams so the terms you used went over my head but I liked the part about you flying, Ive had a few dreams where I started to fly, or was about to start to fly, then I got scared and woke up.

Im happy enough Im dreaming because I know im getting a good nights sleep.

When Im on the non prescrip sleep meds I dont usually dream much.
