Amnesty are an NGO and actively distance them from ANY involvement in government bodies, other than to campaign for people's rights.

A few years ago they published their annual report and named the UK police as one of the worst abusers of human rights in the world.

chill out dude. do not be name calling.

you trolling or are you serious?

very rarely do innocent people end up in jail. sad that it happens sometimes but it is very rare.

if you get caught with coke. you broke the law. before you go to trial and get announced your punishment you are still guilty of getting caught with coke? is that hard to understand?

the lady in the video spent 10 days in jail for coke. and got probation drug testing for a certain amount of time once free.

Ever considered maybe there is nothing wrong with taking drugs, and that locking people up for it in the first place is an infringement of human rights?

yeah drugs are the only thing people should not go to jail for. I was just using that as an example for him about how even before you go to trial you are still a guilty criminal.

if you did not break the law then the police would not arrest you and put in jail for you to wait for your court date.

where I live trial dates are not usually long. you wait like 3-5days at most usually.

    This is just not true.

Innocent people end up in jail all the time.

And even so, "they're probably there because they broke the law" is not an acceptable excuse for what happens in many jails.

Wrongful arrests are very common. If that was not the case we wouldn't have a judicial system, the police would deal with your arrest, punishment, etc. We have judges to control the law enforcement officers, because they're not trustworthy people.

And what do you know, judges become close personal friends of cops and sign any warrant stuck under their nose, and assume everyone arrested was arrested because they broke the law, just like you.

Yeah, some jails are just fine, even modern and humane. But lots are fucking midevil.

well roor. I am glad you are scared of jail. it will keep you from breaking the law.

if people do not care about going to jail and think jail is relaxing and easy then people will not care about commiting crime.

for example a criminal might think. who cares if I get caught stealing a laptop from that guys house because jail is not all that bad.

oh and a lot of times people are given court dates and not taken to jail. unless you do something serious or caught in the act like say caught outside target ( a shopping store) with a bunch of electronics in your pants then you are not going to jail before your court date. now if you do not show up to court on the date given then you will get a warrant put out for your arrest.

Actually it strongly motivates me to be a smoother criminal.

Your whole theory of jail is silly. People who are okay with being locked up already belong to the incarcerated class and have a warm welcome awaiting them in jail. Most of us don't like having our time wasted by filthy pigs who may or may not have ANY case against us, dunno about you but even waiting a few hours for bond is pretty claustrophibia-inducing for me.

You're the one who was asking about the finer points of avoiding arrest for street fighting. Doesn't look like jail deters people, to me. It just drives us to NOT get caught.

There are many thousands of arrestable offences that should NOT even be illegal, beyond drugs. I don't know what kind of utopia you live in, but my area is pretty fucked up, in all sorts of ways, and people get locked up on bogus charges all the time, and oftentime on bogus charges that they're INNOCENT of in the first place. And the judges are the pigs bitches here, as many places, and if the cop arrests you they see it how you do-proof enough that you should have been arrested.

I will not give up liberty for safety, lest I lose both.
