I was wondering if anyone knew books that describe hell or afterlife places in a fun and entertaining matter. For example: In the movie Beettlejuice this couple dies and goes to some sort of purgatory to deal with the transaction of life and death, etc etc, the place was pretty hilarious but in a dark and weird way, anyway I loved it. I was wondering if there were any books describing places like this, or adventures in places like this, afterlife places Tim Burton style. I don't wanna read the Divine Comedy hehe, it has to be humorous and smart, or at least ingenious. Ok thanks!
Sorry I don't know any books to share with you but I gotta agree that movie was a riot. There were tons of great visual gags all through it. The ending when that rotten bastard swiped the Indian guy's number slip was perfect. The concept was great and I don't know why the theme is used more.
Hey I'm late responding but I thought I would throw this out there. You might like Jurgen a Comedy of Justice by James Branch Cabell. Sort of explores the afterlife and such themes, and is a great read. A very thought provoking book, but presented in a light comical manner. Check it out if interested, might be a little hard to find but Amazon should have it. Cheers!
