My dr just prescribed me this anti depressant that is known for suicidal thoughts and highly addictive... I REFUSE to take it, I don't see it as necessary I try to not take pain meds when I know I can live through the pain, but these are just SOOOO painful I can not go without, sadly Is there any herbal remedies that you know of to help ease or all together stop migraine pain? I'm willing to try any natural remedies
It's a little late, but... psilocybe mushrooms and maybe shiitake mushrooms thrown in the diet. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13806167
hi lizmarie! i've been a migraine sufferer for more than a decade. it's chronic migraine now and sometimes it goes on for three days it drives me crazy. i refuse to take medicine too because these painkillers are too strong sometimes they upset my stomach. besides, prolonged use of drugs can damage the liver and that is scary. for me, none of the drugs work now anyway because i've been taking them for so long! i'm on fish oil supplements now (i take Maxalife omega 3s eveveryday) and the frequency, duration, and intensity of my migraine attacks have improved. i have very low pain tolerance for someone who is suffering from migraine but you just gotta deal, you know? *hugs* for you!
I'm in highschool now, I've had migraines maybe 5-6 times a month since i was four . I always have a headache no matter what, pain killers don't do shit and im prescribed to a few different medicines for them. I go to a neurologist and he thinks that I just have tension headaches and wont do anything but send me to a new doctor. I have a very high pain tolerance so I can normally deal but not all the time. Tea helps mine a little, takes the edge off, this brand has a really large selection of natural teas that taste good. I get mine from target, Not too spendy either.
Good for you!! They know how bad this crap is yet they give it out anyway BECAUSE IT FILLS THIER POCKETS!!! I pray you now have better feelings, etc
These help me sometimes. Meditation, breathing exercises, massage temples, no caffiene or chocolate, take Tylonal, aspirin. I've had migraines since I was little and the docs never could find the cause. I feel for ya.
out of curiosity, what anti-depressant did your doc prescribe? my sister gets migraines pretty often, and she says that the only thing that helps her are Advil Liquidgels. From what I remember they're pretty pricey, but they might be worth a try.
