10.6 mile / 4 hour walk, the first half (to where I was going) during a downpour, torrential white-out at times; the second half back during bright, hot sun.

I've had a great day today - caught the train into town with my wife & kids. Went in loads of shops inc Tesco, River Island, Cafe Nero, Boots, WHsmith etc and sank a couple of lunchtime beers too. As per usual no problems anywhere, no comments, no hassle...I love it! :sunny:

Barefoot yesterday: in to town, a few shops (no challenges!) and home again (about 4 miles total).
Met an ex-work-colleague who asked why I was barefoot. Also later saw 4 kids (early teens) who asked the same.
Still didn't see any other barefooters; there must be more than 1 in Slough surely?

Last night I went to a car show with some friends. One of them commented about how it was cool that I always go barefoot everywhere.

Had the day off of work so its been a totally barefoot day!
    Gas station,
    Mary Lee doughnuts,
    Post Office,
My daughter's school, but just in the parking lot. They had their end of the school year water balloon party so a few kids and teachers were barefoot also.

I've just had a bf walk across nw London with three sbl members, one of whom came over from Florida.
We met at Victoria, then walked half way to Camden but took a tube train for the second half to save time. I was glad because i love bf tube travel!
Once there, we walked round the markets, enjoying the mixture of tiles and cobblestones under our feet, then had a pint in the pub.
Now refreshed, we took a long walk to Piccadilly via Regents park, having a meal and another pint in the local pub.
At Piccadilly we had our photo's taken under Eros before going our separate ways.
I walked the two miles back to Kings cross, doing some shopping on the way.

Went into my local Walmart through the garden area. No problem.

Went to the LCBO (Provincial Gov't owned liquor store). The clerk saw me and went straight to the manager. When I got to the counter, she said, "Just to let you know, you need shoes to come inside here."

I said, "Well, I didn't see any sign out front (there is one small one, obscured by another door".

She said, "Well, it's for sanitary reasons."

" I wash my feet everyday. Do you wash your shoes everyday?, I said.

    She said nothing after that.

I find the sanitary reason very cruel. I am not unclean. Besides, I am not picking my feet and touching the bottles!!!

Not sure how our dear Ontario gov't justifies this - eg there are no anti-barefoot gov't heath and safety regulations in Ontario (other than construction sites). We the public own the LCBO so why shouldn't we be allowed in the way we want. It's also interesting that the gov't-owned Beer Store doesn't have no bare feet signs!! Go figure.

I think the beer store is actually owned by 2 or 3 big breweries, is it not? government regulated, but privately owned.

I've been wandering around my university barefoot, whenever I can. And, yay, every day I do so my knee pain (some kind of chronic tendonitis that my family is prone to?) lessens. Also, my legs and bum have toned up amazingly since I started hobbiting. My husband is pleased.

I've had to wear shoes again in the last couple of days, we've had some twisters in my area (Ah, Missouri...) and it's not as safe here.
