    Hey everyone.
I'm a pretty active reader of the psychedelics section and I am really needing some wisdom and advice from the experienced people here.

I am 20 years old and had scoliosis corrective surgery about a month and a half ago. I had titanium rods and screws fused to my spine and had it straightened out.

When I got home from the hospital, I was prescribed on heavy doses of Oxycodone. I was taking anywhere from 40mg - 80mg a day. I maintained this amount, decreasing the mg slowly over the past month and half and today was my first day without my medicine.

Naturally, I hit a brick wall. While that mg dosage may not be a lot to some, if you take that much over an extended period, your bound to get addicted.

    My symptoms:

    Sweaty
    Hot / Cold flashes
    Upset stomach
    Loss of appetite
    Can't sleep
    Pain everywhere
I don't want to get out of this chair and feel like if I leave my room or get up, i'll die.

I just need some advice on how to kick this. I've never dealt with withdrawal or addiction before and this is the hardest thing I've ever experienced.
For those of you out there that are doing codeine recreation-ally, stop. Do yourself a long term favor and just don't do it. This codeine addiction is literally hell.

So, any of you been through this? Any advice? I have some herb coming in tomorrow and I'm hoping if I smoke steady everyday for a while, it will help me.

    Anyways, thanks for any advice.

You will just have to tough through the 8 or so days of being dope-sick. It will be awful, but just expect that. Then, its over and you are free.

It doesn't sound like you are mentally addicted to the stuff, so you won't have to worry about that aspect (the harder aspect IMO).

    Everything went well!
The herb I got really did help out. It helped me take my mind off the fact I wasn't taken the oxy. I still have urges every now and again, but not nearly as bad.

Go to the Opiates section, check out "Saying goodbye to opie". It has some pretty good advice from me and others about getting clean/getting through withdrawals. I've been clean for 3 months. It's not a long time mind you, but I've been through this numerous times. Sharing my story and getting advice/support from others has helped me tremendously, likely saving my life. If you ever need someone to talk to or some support you can PM me, I'd love too help you or anyone else who's going through the hell that is pain pill/heroin addiction get through it. Good luck, you can do it!

A benzo like ativan. You were taking a large dosage. Withdraw was emminent. Takes like 2mg ativan to help with withdraw. In a week you will be better. Don't get me wrong you willl still face withdraw not as bad.

Taking a benzo, let alone a stronger one like Ativan isn't too good of an idea. I took it pretty much just to get to sleep, I took immodium and clonidine for the actual withdrawals. I stopped taking the Ativan about a week after I was able to sleep on my own. And yes, I did have to take 2mg, which is equal to 20mg of valium, enough to knock me out.
