Want to join ecovillage/community, Need ideas

What's up, everyone? I am looking for a kind community to live a more harmonious and peaceful life. I do have to work a part time job or something to help me pay a car payment every month, but i dont want to be a slave anymore and jeopardize my happiness to do it. I currently teach outdoor education in WI, but thats over in June. So I am thinking of trying to find another job like that, or in wildlife rehabilitation somewhere near a nice community/ecovillage of kind, like-minded individuals. I was hoping to know the location of some of these places so I can only look for jobs in those areas. If anyone can help me, I will have total happiness and you will have my gratitude!

well i could make a couple of suggestions to start. some friends of ours are staring a community near redding CA. they just posted a thread today that you can check out and email them if you're interested. also old wolf, who is the moderator of this forum, has a thread in the personal forums called land community gatherings where he describes what he has and is doing in the ithaca area of NY which has a lot of potential. also you could go to the reachbook of the ic.org site where there are a number of communities looking for people. also some friends of mine who live near new paltz,ny are developing community living there. also one of them owns 100acres near madison,wi that he would be interested in developing a community on in the future. so there are many options available and many more developing. so i don't see a problem with you finding a suitable place by june. so check some of those connects out and if you still need help or want some other options email me at nwrfred@yahoo peace

 

Awesome... thanks Ill do a little research. Actually I live only about a hour and a half from Madison right now. So far Wisconsin is pretty nice... what light can you shed on that piece of information? I might consider staying in WI, although I was thinking further west. Still.. thanks for any input you have!

as you may read on a post im puuting on here after this... we are starting a communal living situation in maine...that simply does not have a focus, by that i mean a theme !and we would love to here from you as a matter of fact the building of the communal lodge will be in late march early april... and should be still in the building phase if you wanted to join us and pitch in!!! contact me via email or pm if you want to know more information!
