The concept of this game is pretty simple. It's to note all the differences between the "enviroment" of today and 1968. Answer as many questions as you can and then decide for yourself if you could or could not live in 1968. (Post your reasons why or why not ) 1) Name as many electrical or battery powered devices that you have currently own or have in your home today that would not be in the home of the average person in 1968. 2) Name as many possible medical cures or treatments discovered since 1968. And note if any of these have directly impacted on your life 3) Name several music groups or recording artists of today that you would be willing to spend money just to own a copy of their album, instead of just downloading it for free. 4) Name as many as possibe security devices that are common today but weren't in 1968. 5) Name several things that you can do today but not do in 1968. And then name several things that you could do in 1968 but can not today. *** Bonus Question *** Name a job or profession that exists in both 1968 and today that you believe has changed more than any other. Give reasons.

1) Name as many electrical or battery powered devices that you have currently own or have in your home today that would not be in the home of the average person in 1968. laptop, old antique cabinet-style television from the 1970s, dishwasher (although I usually just end up washing them by hand), umm..electric can opener. cd player. 2) Name as many possible medical cures or treatments discovered since 1968. And note if any of these have directly impacted on your life I have no idea. I haven't had health insurance in 8 years so its not like it would make a difference. I did have an asthma attack once, a couple of months ago. I still have to use the inhaler whenever I'm around too much cigarette smoke. I don't really know what treatment they had for asthma back then, but I do know the rates of asthma were a hell of a lot lower. 3) Name several music groups or recording artists of today that you would be willing to spend money just to own a copy of their album, instead of just downloading it for free. pretty much everyone I listen to. I don't ever download music because I'm technologically retarded and can't even figure out where to find a good site for free music. 4) Name as many as possibe security devices that are common today but weren't in 1968. no idea, nothing that effects me. 5) Name several things that you can do today but not do in 1968. waste time on hipforums, find out anything I want to know at the touch of a fingertip (although I still think nothing beats the public library when it comes to research). Text. Use a cell phone period. And then name several things that you could do in 1968 but can not today. find more motivation to get outside and do something active because the internet is not sucking me in. the internet can be super addictive, man. acid was easier to come by back then, so thats definitely a plus. political protests were probably both more enjoyable and intense back then. *** Bonus Question *** Name a job or profession that exists in both 1968 and today that you believe has changed more than any other. Give reasons.[/QUOTE] uhhh.....being a musician, for one. Now shows are all booked over the internet, music is downloaded for free, the vast majority of income for a musician must come from ticket sales because they're not going to make it up in vinyl sales. The recording technology has changed drastically as well.
1) Name as many electrical or battery powered devices that you have currently own or have in your home today that would not be in the home of the average person in 1968. Cell phone, computer and I used to have a 3D DVD player and a flat screen TV. But I hated the TV so I left it at the side of the road. Since I no longer had a TV, I left the DVD player with it. (How can anyone watch those flat things? They're so "unreal" looking that just hurts the head watching them. Much like those stupid energy saving mercury filled lightbulbs they want everyone to buy) 2) Name as many possible medical cures or treatments discovered since 1968. And note if any of these have directly impacted on your life Face transplants are the only thing I can think of. Whereas, I can think of lots of treatments that have been found to cause serious harm and are still available. (I'm a retired lawyer and I've sued a few doctors and drug companies) 3) Name several music groups or recording artists of today that you would be willing to spend money just to own a copy of their album, instead of just downloading it for free. My youngest grandchild sums up my feelings best on this one. The music today is so bad that it's not even worth stealing. 4) Name as many as possibe security devices that are common today but weren't in 1968. Taser, pepper spray, sound guns, perlax body amour, cell phone downloaders and satelite tracking. 5) Name several things that you can do today but not do in 1968. And then name several things that you could do in 1968 but can not today. Today as a lonely old man with nothing better to do, I can talk on hipforums. But in 1968 A) I could own a large comfortable car that had some power. B) I could fly anywhere in the world without needing to be fondled by TSA or put in an adult sized microwave for an X-ray C) I could eat a steak that I knew came from a "clean cow" and not this "modified or treated" garbage of today. D) I could get a politician to listen to me by shaking my fist in the air and not having to use my lawyer credentials and 3 registered letters. *** Bonus Question *** Name a job or profession that exists in both 1968 and today that you believe has changed more than any other. Give reasons Car mechanic. My father was a mechanic so I sort of grew up knowing a thing or two about cars. It used to be that all you needed to fix your car was a few wrenches. Today when I look under the hood of a modern car, it looks like Darth Vader's bathroom blew up!
Could I live in 1968? I did. 1968 was the 172nd through the 537th day of my existence on this planet. Back then I liked to nibble on some titty & then maybe a nap. I haven't changed much. Yes, I could totally do '68 over again.
I was around in 68, but I don't remember much.....the draft was a hot item and so was the Tet offensive....:-/
I did live in 1968 [born '59] [1]THIS PC and its wireless netlink THE MOBILE [2]None , oh wait laser eye surgery. Im ignorant. None impacted on me [3] trick question] In 1968 i would dl it for free [4] Like a gun? WTF is a security device.? A taser? pepper spray? Rather than answer 5 Ill say that this year of 2011 is radically different in so many ways they cannot be listed. In 1968 i read 1984. and could not belive the world it depicted. I have snce learned better In 1968 the world was free and we looked for new horizons. In 2011 we are anal reclusives hiding from our own government. We allowed this. All stupidity needs to win is for wise men to do nothing. and we did[nt] Its a fucking disaster. I side with voice of truth. As a fellow lonely old man. a troglodyte. A pariah. That about sums it up.
My youngest grandchild sums up my feelings best on this one. The music today is so bad that it's not even worth stealing.
A year latter i watched apollo 11 command and Lem module orbit moon through a 10 inch reflector scope. I saw the LEM [for a second] detach. [caught the sun] That 15 minuite experience shaped my life forever. The 1st orgasm of my life was conceptual. The awesomeness of it still shakes me.. WE, can do anything. If we choose Unfortunately only a very small part of humanity even looks up [at the sky] or more important. beyond it. From that point 'thinking' humanity has slid downhill to a pack of sheep owned by the wealthy. [again] what a fucking disaster.
Well I think you pretty much understood what this goal of this post. It was to get people to think and look at just how very little has really changed in the last 40 to 50 years. We could literally take any 16-24 year old today and put them in 1968 and they would get along just fine. The biggest differences between today and 1968 were the freedoms and the possiblities that were open to the youth. Whereas today our young are completly considered expendable by the establishement. A university education isn't worth the price of horse poop. Our young men are constantly being pushed to join the military and our young girls are being told they should become dumb bisexual sex objects for men. Our young have been sold a lie. The establishment has convienced them that high-technology is going to save them. But the truth is that today's youth is quickly becoming "outdated." World governments and big business considers today's youth to be things they can use and throw away when they no longer suit their needs. Just like a cell phone from 3 years ago sits in our garbage dumps; So sit the young adults of today in similar proverbial situations. I ask you.. Is it any wonder why so many are messed up? None of this is their faults, They have been sold one lie after the next. Fortunately the solution to the lies is a simple one. It requires a change in the way they see the world. It starts first by showing them that they are not mere toss in the garbage can objects. And we can do that by showing them love, accepting them and telling them that their lives have value. Then we must help them learn different ways of living. Show them such things as that it's better to learn how to sing than to buy an IPod. Or how to bake their own bread without the use of an automated machine. The list of things we can teach them is indeed long. They must be made to see that there is a certain pride and sense of accomplishment and self in being able to do things for yourself. And finally one lat things we must show them, That must come to see that it's better and more satisfying to be sensual and caressing with each other than have an agressive "fuck like animals" attitude. Teach them to hug and hold.. Not dominate and screw. In the end, if we can do these things. The establishment will collapse and we will save the lives and futures of millions and millions of today's generation and future generations.
Voice of thruth The answer you will get from 80% plus is old school fool. Only a portion of humanity is sane. Promote it. And trust in natural selection. Humanity is a self serving horror. A billion will do nothing but from them a million will. Look to that million. Teach and they will listen Joachim Alexander Boaz
